AudioKinesis Cabs Part VI...

Awesome! Your cabs really seem fantastic. It was suggested I go with a Hathor 1506 with a 1203 on top (optionally) like the photo on your website. I appreciate your input. What is your current lead time? And if you like I can move the conversation to PM.

I'm not taking new orders right now. I gotta get caught up on the ones that I'm way behind on first. Sorry about that!

Been recording livestreams in a small portable the last few Saturdays.

The Thunderchild/G-K mBFusion combo has been sounding stellar, but we had a new keyboard player tonight, and he was muddying up the low end.

Plugged one port, and it tightened things up perfectly. Love the versatility of my 1st-gen AF cab.

I agree with the “poor man’s Meyer Sound” comment. Very much like an oversized studio monitor, which was exactly what I had been dreaming about for about a decade before Duke showed up.

Help people.

I am an old guy and just got a deal on a Hathor 1203 and got a Mesa D-800.

All in all sounds good - but no matter how I set it - it still sounds to High Fi. Tried the switches and all the knobs on the head and still to High Fi.

Any help or ideas from you guys. Oh yeah using a 71 P bass.

The least "hifi" setting would be top switch DOWN (least amount of highs), bottom switch UP (most upper mids).

If that doesn't work then I suggest you sell the cab, it's not a good match for you.

Thanks for that evaluation of me and for me. I will give that all a try.

Duke do not run for political office, you are way honest for politics. I love you "suggest" - how many other builders would do that.

Thank you

These cabs are super clean. In addition to putting the top switch down, try putting a transparent overdrive in the front and rolling off some highs. That little touch of overdrive is likely what you didnt realize you were missing. I always thought i liked a perfectly clean sound until i had one.

What Duke said and make sure the deep switch on the amp is engaged. Maybe add some low mids.

Thanks Medicine Man

I will try what Duke said and to try more the amp settings. However, an extra pedal is not an option for me. Don't need extra stuff in line.

Thanks

Where do you have the voicing switch on the amp fully set (i.e. clock position)? Can you describe what you mean by HiFi (we all have different definitions)? Are you running the cab ports fully open, partially open or closed?
