Played it with the band today (M6 Carbine on top) and it killed. Absolutly gorgeous, deep and clear. A real thump machine!

Just another word about pairing amps with this cab. It definitely deserves 500 watts to milk the long-throw 15 for what it's worth. I've been messing with my Shuttle 3(300 watts into 4 Ohms) and it does sound great BUT it won't allow the cab to generate the lows it's capable of at gig volume without flashing the clip light like a Christmas tree.

Agreed Lomo...it does crave power more than my GB 2x12, but she is very happy when I feed her 600 watts from my GB shuttlemax 6.0.the power def seems to be eaten by the big bottom end the cab can throw.

Dave must be really backed up with orders. I placed my order on 12/27 and it still hasn't shipped. I got in at the introductory price of $399. I'm wondering if I should add the $29 cover??

^ I opted for the cover. I've never had a cover before, but for $29, I figured I'd be extra fancy. Other than my 1992 SVT 410 HE, I've never bought a cab new either.

For those still wanting but not doing, I ordered yesterday (1/9) and the introductory price was still listed for this cab. Hard to pass up (although I blame everyone on this thread for the GAS.)

Yes, mainly because of the lower impedance/goosed volume. I just wish the 153 was as light, and I have no use for it's tweeter.

I have no doubt you're right, Lomo. Until I get enough ambition to try out the fEarful plans, I've a feeling I'll be very happy with the Avatar. (Cute dog! Elkhound mix?)
