i use the aquilar db751.. the sound is incredible.
Whoa Nelly! That's a lot of amp for a pair of 4 ohm 1x12s. Take care and keep it between the ditches.

they are 500 wats a piece and at 2 ohms the db751 is 975 watts... thats less than the 2 cabs rating...

i hear what you are saying, but who really uses all the power their amp is capable of putting out? i don't, i just like the fact that i can use the 2 ohm output! if there are no reasons for a 2 ohm drop why is it made? i never understood why 2 ohms is used on amps? i have a schroeder 212pl 800 watt cab, hifi as hell, sounds incredible, but i think the DB would sound good through a gorilla amp..Yeah, but they're single 12's. That 500 watts won't apply to the low bass end. 150 watts of clean bass is very good performance for a single 12.
Your DB751 could send a pair of 8ohm 12's into distortion in the bass end, and possibly kill them if not used responsibly. 4-ohmers....watch out.

i dont plan on ever really using the 2ohm capabilities! i like the idea of being able to if i ever needed to... its kind of like the mustangs in the 90's they were 225 horse motors on a crap frame? all the frames of a used mustang gt were bent! but, but, the horse was there incase you needed it, was it good for the car? so as i see it, the 2 ohm load i probably will never use, worse come to worse ill just drop in an 8 ohm 12lfc...
If you've connected two (2) 4-ohm cabs, then your amp is already running @ 2 ohms. That's the way impedance works. It doesn't matter whether you "plan" to use it. It's already there. The only question then is, how well will you be able to manage all that power @ 2 ohms?

Volume knobs aren't that hard to operate. I've used very high powered amps into single 1x12 cabs in the past, and the magic smoke has never escaped.

In cabs with a real crossover (which includes a filter to roll the treble out of the woofer), it involves more than just "dropping in" a different impedance woofer. The crossover needs to see a particular impedance to work right, so the crossover must be changed too.i dont plan on ever really using the 2ohm capabilities! i like the idea of being able to if i ever needed to... its kind of like the mustangs in the 90's they were 225 horse motors on a crap frame? all the frames of a used mustang gt were bent! but, but, the horse was there incase you needed it, was it good for the car? so as i see it, the 2 ohm load i probably will never use, worse come to worse ill just drop in an 8 ohm 12lfc...
I could run four 8 ohmers with my Carvin BX1200, two on each amp, at 200 watts each cab. That would be pretty cool.In cabs with a real crossover (which includes a filter to roll the treble out of the woofer), it involves more than just "dropping in" a different impedance woofer. Much better to buy the right cab to begin with.
I'd just get a fleet of SB126's. Pile up however many you need to make enough rig for the gig.
A DB750/751 and 3 or 4 of these things would be a huge sounding rig.
2 of them, turned up a healthy bit, would carry the room at a typical rock small bar gig. 3 or 4 for really big stuff.
