The 1k6 2 way is not mounted on the jack plate. It's mounted next to it on the wall of the cab.... per Dave.

I had a conversation with Trevor at Avatar. They have four choices for drivers. He recommended the Avatar 250 watt neo driver, with the 2.5k hz cross-over for my needs. G-K 400RB-IV, 4-string Fender, classic rock with some overdrive.
The ceramic driver is a durable workhorse, but is not as refined as the neo. For versatility choose the Avatar neo. The Faital does not have the lows of the Avatar neo. The Kappalite would need the 1.6k hz cross-over.
He said their neo driver has good lows, like the ceramic driver.
Does anybody know which neo Eminence driver they are using? I know it is their proprietary design, but which Eminence does it most closely match? Anybody have a graph? The Deltalite II 2512 maybe? Neo, 250 watts. Except it has 58hz for low end. So maybe they extended that driver's specs.
He said he was involved in development of the SB126 and felt the 1.6k hz cross-over seemed to not let the woofer's mid-range abilities shine. Overdrive harmonics sound better out of a woofer than a mid/tweeter.
So, there it is. It was better to talk to them then wondering and reading and comparing.

This question has already come up before in this thread, and the answer has already been supplied: Dave's standard 250-watt Neo woofer is the Eminence Deltalite II 2512, customized to his specifications. Specs are not publicly available, because Dave has not made them available. But in general terms, this OEM version offers more Xmax (i.e. low end extension) than the stock version, as a trade-off to somewhat less extension into the upper midrange. That's essentially the extent of what anybody knows, other than Dave himself.

Probably. Those custom Delatalites really look like they could work nicely in a cab with dedicated mid drivers - it could really fix the big mid scoop, which was my main complaint with the B110.

Basically a Deltalite II with a heavier cone and/or bit different coil or positioning of coil.
Deeper response & bit more mechanical handling.
Also maybe bit lower sensitivity but mainly less topend and its breakup peak coming in lower in frequency than the stock model.

Totally subjective opinion but I have both 12" Avatar OEM 4ohm neo's and stock Emi. 8ohm Deltalite II's.
I prefer the Avatars a bit more in 2-way setups with a PA mid or guitar speaker playing the high side. Bit deeper/fuller lows, can take a pretty good pounding down there, and give me an 8ohm, 2-woofer cab.
Prefer the stockers more as a typical "one speaker plays it all" one-way bass cab, with or without a tweeter on top.
If "stock 8ohm ceramics" means Delta12LF's, the rig will pound...and your 2.5k will work fine.
The D12LFs spl likely isn't much if any less than the OEM neos, but with 500 watt coils, they won't lose as much to compression cranking loud over the long haul.
I just looked at Avatar's website and saw that the 6" mid is only a $30 upcharge. That's a hell of a deal.
In most scenarios, I'd be all over the Deltalites or the Kappalites instead of the Deltas. It's been years since I've used ceramic drivers, as I've been on this "modern refined" tone trip for quite awhile now, so I reflexively go for the latest, greatest tech and the most hi-fi tone possible.
Not for these cabs. A pair of SB126s is going to form my new dedicated rock rig, so a little extra attitude is in order. Less refined, less polite, and a little rougher around the edges sounds just about right. It's going to be a pleasure to crank these babies up with my 700RB-II or my RS700.

I went with the Delta LF because I'll be pushing it with an MB800. One 8 ohm cab will be enough for my smaller gigs. I'll add another 8 ohm for my big gigs. I'm waiting to order the 2nd cab until I hear how this cab sounds.
