Double Bass Baby Bass megathread

Andres Rosado Basses are lighter and punchier IMHO than the RR basses. And an almost exact replica to an Ampeg, except for the pickup quality which Andy has improved on and has a lot of Ampeg users sending him their pickups to be redone Andy baby Bass style... Less expensive too..

This just got posted on Craigslist in Gainesville, FL. $3,700 for both.

I wasn't aware they came in 5ers, and it's my colour, too.

How much does a Kidney sell for nowadays? Low mileage, only driven to Church on Sundays for the sacramental wine...

Seems like a fair trade when add in the Ampeg tube amp and speaker combo. I played somebody else's 4 string version (black not white) of this setup sitting in for a jazz gig when I was 18 back in 69. Always wanted one. 5-string must have some serious thump on that low B. I might take a drive down to Micanopy next weekend just to check it out and drool.

Hi Bassplayer......Anybody have some pickups for azola, ampeg baby bass ? The magnetic ones.
preferably if you have brigde, plate and pickups, but all kinds are welcomme.

Best regards

Jesper G Hansen (Copenhagen, Denmark)

There is a luthier in PR by the name of Andres Rosado who makes the Ampeg Style pickups if you're interested I can put you in touch with him...

Hi, I spoke to Kris from KK who mentioned some players install an additional piezo pickup to complement the magnetic one. If you tried this on your KK Baby Bass, where did you put it, and did you install an onboard preamp/mixer to blend the inputs?

Thanks Clarkybass! Maybe a stupid question, but did you remove the front plate to re-wire the output jack, or simply fixed the new jack on top, next to the original one?
Also very curious to heard how it sounds, if you have any recordings.
