Baer Amplification Megathread!

Carry your Streamliner in form fitted/ hollowed-out Foam in a nice Briefcase for Mics or camera gear.

When you get to the gig, Remove Streamliner and foam from case. Flip the foam upside down with the hollowed out portion over the handle on the Baer Cab. Place the Streamliner on top of the foam.

1. You isolate tubes from rattling since the amp is sitting on foam
2. Your Streamliner now sits nicely over the handle of the cab.
3. The Foam is color coordinated with the Streamliner, so it looks cool!

Hey Gary,
I have actually been looking into making something just like this and having the hole die cut so it looks real sharp. Just looking into different materials to see what works the best.

I've seen quite a few players just set the amp right on top of the handle, with the feet just in front of the handle. No problem with this and the amp stays put just fine.

I usually stack my pair of cabs vertically, but I've occasionally done this with my MarkBass F500 or Aggie TH500. As Roger says, it works fine; never had the amp walk off the handle. The back feet of the amp rest on the tolex and keep it in place.

I've always wondered about the "tubes rattling" thing. Sometimes I've used foam because I was worried about it. Then I kind of stopped being worried. Now I'm worried again. :hmm: Seriously, anything to worry about? Streamliner 900 in my case as well.

Wow... Just looked up The Gramma and it is 23x15 which seems like it'd be a PERFECT fit for one side of the ML112... Which is 23.25"w x 16.75"h.

AND... It has the perfect shape to leave room for the handle in that space underneath, no?

Check it...

Good thinking, Tom... This might be the workaround people are looking for.

Happy to help! :D

BTW, a lot of folks use them underneath the cab(s). IME, this can help in some rooms, but doesn't do much in others. However, if you have any issues with rattling tubes, IME, placing one between the head and cab really does the trick.

I've never had a problem with my Streamer pumping through an Uber 410. Funny, I used to use the Gramma Pad when I was using a GBE1200. Not because I was worried about tube rattle, but because the thing weighed like 75 pounds in my RoadReady case plus power conditioner and whatnot. I was protecting my tolex!

Now it sits home.

Yes, they have/are in a way: it is a pair that can be placed where needed.

Yup, good call. For smaller cabs with a handle on top, I will often use these. But if the cab is big enough to comfortably fit the GRAMMA, I find it's easier to bring the GRAMMA.

Yes, that would work too, but since the handle runs parallel to the front of the cabinet, you would have to set them on the cab sideways, making the head crooked because of the wedge shape of the pads.

Know what I mean?

Here's the bottom of the GRAMMA... perfect gap underneath to fit the handle.

Having a crooked head on a cab would be fine... unless you're an anal retentive freak like me where everything has to be lined up perfectly or people might die.

:D

Nope. Put them on either short side of the handle perpendicular to the handle, so that the head tilts towards the user

If you put them on either side of the handle, the amp would sit between them, would it not?

EDIT: I'm talking about micro heads like the TH500, STM900, etc... not DB701's and full-size rack units, etc.
