Bands That Your Amazed That Made It.

I'm pretty sure Paul actually sings "in this ever-changing world in which we're livin..." and just slurs it a bit. I'm gonna give him the benefit of the doubt.
To answer OP's question, I'd say bands like Staind, Saliva, and Puddle of Mudd. I heard a new Saliva song on the radio a little while back, and I couldn't believe they were still around.
I like DMB too... also I like a lot of bands that are getting dissed in this post..... and some that I dispise that are getting praise..... go figure...
I'm not surprised at most of the bands that "made it", because it seems the less Talent the more successful. "Music" has very little to do with the success of the most popular bands.

I wouldn't know where to start. It's all subjective, but there does seem to be a pretty strong general consensus that mainstream music by and large sucks. It comes down to the camp that actually listens and the camp that just consumes what they're told.

many moons ago, when i was an impressionable 13 year old, with an unquenchable thirst for new music, especially of the rock/metal variety, i discovered type o negative, and instantly fell in love. i was obsessed with that band for years. not too long ago, a friend of mine who used to like them as well bought a live dvd of theirs. we sat down with some beers and watched it one night. i couldnt believe i ever thought those guys were remotely cool. i used to listen to "i know youre f****** someone else" over and over and over on repeat. my tastes have changed drastically since those days. i definitely dont hate on anyone whos still a fan.

in '70 they absolutely blew chunks (I think they were higher than kites

In the studios Zep was outstanding - but once they hit the road - the road seemed to jump up and bite them on the ass...

Yeah, because Plant and Page couldn't stop wanking onstage. If it wasn't for Jones and Bonham in the live situations, they really would have lived up to their name!
