I've even considered replacing the volume pot with a simple switch to tie the output to ground.

I'm thinkin about adding one or two more J pickups to this one. If I do that I'll probably add series-parallel switching up on the treble horn or maybe a varitone type circuit (several different caps on a rotary switch - that or a Tonestyler). I picked up a two Fender Super 55's on MF's Stupid Deal of the Day and they are making my router fingers twitch.

I'd say Lokire's old Stambaugh 6 has to be on the list.

Some of the controls may not be labeled correctly in this photo though. . .

Thanks! Just a simple lacquer finish, but vey nice Bubinga wood.

Much sanding and an oil finish would look better up close, but I'm not inclined to go to that trouble. I may do something to create a different look for the control panel. Maybe a black pick guard in the same shape.

Old thread and an old post but to me Phil Lesh is far more of a four string guitarist than he is a typical bassist so it's not surprise that he enjoys all those knobs. They probably took the place of stomp boxes. LOL

Derek Smalls classic has fewer knobs than I thought.

But this BC Rich doubleneck has more. Not the most, but lots, and I like how they're scattered throughout the body.

Flipping through some old watched threads. This one is worthy of resurrection in my opinion. I don't think I have posted these here.

The maple topped ones have standard Audere 4 band Pro Z preamps. The bocote and koa topped ones have custom Audere NC preamps. The coils in the cavity are for hum cancellation. Both have on/off switches for each coil in addition to the 4 band preamp, volume and blend controls. The 6 pack (three dual coils) has 62 possible hum cancelling combinations of coils.

Nothing photoshopped here - I would even know how to do that.

We have Terminix spray the control cavities of my basses when they do the rest of the house.

Jeez, I wish I hadn't seen this right before bedtime! Nightmares now for sure!! (It took me about 4 hours to figure how to put a Les Paul type 3 way in a PJ bass)

It's definitely a photoshop job. F Bass would probably consider that an abomination.
