What are the switching options?

My first bass was a Warlock. I wish I still had it. I took this pic when I was about 15, back in the late eighties. The Ironbird is my mates guitar.
Hey all.. I just picked up my first BC Rich (used) and have a few questions. It is a NJ Series BC Rich Warlock. Is there any way to tell about what year it is? The headstock looks different than any other Warlock basses I have seen. The guy I bought it from said the body has been re-painted (headstock was left alone) and he also had bartolini pickups put in. On the back of the cover for the neck bolts is the number 28311. I assume that would be the serial number.

It does have some stickers on it that I want to remove, but other than that, it seems to be in good condition.
I paid $250 for it. Was that a good deal, or was I a sucker??
Id say it is a 85. It looks exactly like my 85 NJ series warlock. \
except mine had EMGs and the weird previous owner input.
And just so you know the knobs on yours arent factory.
And Id say you didnt get ripped off. I paid 200 for mine with EMGs, and a Quilted Top.

Yes as the headstock says this is a BC Rich. Its a Platinum series warlock. Probably made sometime in the mid to early 2000s. The headstock has been filed down because im assuming someone chipped it. The switch is a three way pickup selector switch. I used to have one just like it but with white binding. I liked mine how do you like yours?

it's still a super sweet warlock...i would imagine it plays better than most of the import model warlocks...i wish warmoth would do an ignitor bass copy...i just need to get off my butt and order a custom shop one
Yeah that makes alot more sense. I just assumed that it was a little rubber foot. Some bichs used to have them and you could buy them at one point. I guess im not to famaliar with warmoth replicas. I feel a little stupid.
how 'bout this...did you know that the custom shop won't do an ignitor bass with a carved top? hmmph...indeed...after all this time, i got an email that was like 'oh, by the way...the powers that be say that the options you want, i.e., carved top, isn't available on an ignitor bass...' man...that's like a dealbreaker...hmm...maybe a carved top warlock...red, flame maple top, black binding...like the geetar they've got over at beatstreet...that would be hot
Really? No carved top Ignitors. Thats a bunch of bs. Those are some really nice looking basses. If you had got one I totally would have been jealous. Though I probably wouldve gotten a flat top Ignitor because you just dont see people playing those instruments anymore.
there have only been a few ingitor basses built at all...there's been a P/J 5 string and then jon necromancer's P/P 4 string...those are the only ones i know of, but i'm sure there have been a few others...i thought for sure that the custom shop would hammer out a carved top ignitor just because someone wanted one...if you look at some of the crazy custom geetars they've built, you would think that i wasn't asking all that much
Yeah. I myself have only seen maybe one other one. Id pay a good amount for a bass like that.
I really am curious as to why they wouldnt do that. Maybe its just because they dont have a body blank for that and the money to manufacture a new one that will never get used would be too great.

that ironbird is pretty awesome too. love the color. prefer the ironbird headstock but that bass is a beaut.

The Ironbird is a work in slow planning LOL,the original neck was twisted,a friend bought me this neck,but it has a terrible front bow and the truss rod is on maximum.
So,i got a NJ II Warlock to use the 100 piece neck on the ironbird,but unfortunately there was nothing wrong with the Warlock,so the Ironbird remains a work in progress
But it doesn't really matter as someone gave me this today

Yeah, I remember you talking about that widow on bc rich players (im APSH) and your "review" and all the pictures. Im absolutely jealous. Love the bridge on that and the binding. I wish people would give me mockingbirds like that.
