Behringer Bass V-AMP Pro - Part II: Get On Back, Jack, Do It Again...

I'm using a Rolls midi-buddy pedal I bought for 50 bucks and never had an issue. Just plugged it in, and it worked. I did not play with the dip switches, just hooked it up and the top row of pedals selects A1B1C1D1E1 and the bottom row is A2..etc, if I want A3 or whatever I have to use the 10's button then select for A3B3..etc. The 10 presets are more than I use in a random show or noodling at the house.
The only complaint from nicer pedals is the buttons are square and smallish.

ya thats the only bitch about it, it uses a transformer. What I did was cut the cord and make it as long as the 25ft midi cable so all that goes to the pedalboard is the white midicable and the extra power wire ziptied to it. the transformer sits on my powerstrip in the rack.

I dunno I hooked up the midi out from the pedal to the midi in on the vamp, and it just works. The GC website says in stock for 129 ( ouch ), but at YOUR store? I dunno. :)

Hmm i wonder why my ART pedal doesnt work like that. I got it used from a buddy who had it in his basement. Charged me $25 and said he used it a long time ago...so maybe its just shot. I'll see if i can pick up some new midi cables if I head to GC just in case...

Thanks for the info on the Midi Buddy tho :-)

It's also possible, if your ART pedal is programmable, that it's not setup to work with the V-Amp. See if you can find some software which will allow you to at least check the program (if it IS programmable), and some of us can help you set it to match.

now that is interesting considering it sits in a rack and only the front panel would get hit by the sun. what do you mean cutting out? volume/power/preset? what?
did you ever check your backup battery ever?

I have had mine outside in the blazing sun so many times in 2 years I can't count in fact one time I thought the plastic covering the center section was gonna be on there for life?..haha nope it got so hot it fell off never to be found again :rollno:

On the other hand, I remember experiencing some fading issues with my pod Bass V-amp.

Randomly while playing, only live or at rehersal my sound would start to slowly fade out and then would slowly fade back in after a few minutes.
Happened several times with several amps and bass guitars, never happened at home and I could never replicate it, it just happened randomly.

I had a similar problem with mine cutting out. I changed the eprom to the latest (1.09?) and put in a new battery. Haven't had an issue since. Also, make sure your connection in the back are secure. They can rattle loose, especially if you have a little weight on the jack (such as a long cord).

well I'm bumping the thread to tell everyone about my new/used Vamp pro-blueface-guitar unit I found for less than 100 bucks. I pulled the top off right away to check the battery 2.84v so I'm good for a long time :)

some sounds are so close I can't tell a difference, some are pretty much for the guitar only ( distortion settings ), but after spending a few hours a/b'ing the goldface to this one to my ears, either one would work for my uses.

Congrats!

I wish the Bass V-AMP Pro had a nice color to it instead of the dull silver :D
