I like to think of 'slam' as punch with the heft,weight,iron to the note, and ideally across the whole range of frequencies, such that is doesn't thin out too much on the high end. You can have volume and punch and all that, but without some heft there along with the punch, there really is no slam factor, and thus the dynamics that make bass really what bass is meant to be..IMO..is missing.

I own audiokinesis 1203 and a mas46 but no Berg's. .

Well, you can control the frequency centers and bandwidth of the EQs, it has a variable HPF, it is DSP-tweakable for 2-ohm operation, among other things, so I'd say yes!

Absolutely! It is as "other cab friendly" as any other great head out there. More so, in fact!

Reading above I am reminded of a question I meant to ask earlier. As cheap as memory is these days I don't understand why there are only two memory settings available.? Wouldn't it make sense to have several as I know a lot Berg fans own multiple cabs from different series' and of course different settings for different rooms. Two just seems completely counterintuitive to me. Help me understand please.

I picked mine up today, and played it through my CN212 with several different basses for 45 minutes or so. One thing I've noticed is, in addition to the cleanest reproduction from bottom to top of any amp I've heard, the attack is just phenomenal - crisp and immediate. There's no fur on the sound at all, even on the B string down low - it just reproduces the sound very accurately. It's one of those amps that will give up any sloppy playing because you can hear everything that goes into it. May I say "three dimensional" sound without sounding like a huckster?

Anyway, I'm very happy with the amp.
