Hi - The pedal can be used with other devices if it can pair with the software in a tablet, etc. The dongle cannot be used on anything else and can only be used with the B|Amp, no other devices, because it has our proprietary software.

Bergantino B/Amp at NAMM

If I were to have a problem with the pedal (not dongle) that would render it useless, what would be the process for a replacement? Surely it's not as simple as buying another Airturn pedal/

If your tablet can communicate with an Airturn PED pedal, then yes. Each time you want to change the device it is used with you would have to reset the pedal and then Pair it with the new device you will be using it with.

It is as simple as that. As mentioned earlier, we've OEM'd the Airturn PED pedal. Via the dongle and our proprietary software, the B|AMP can communicate and Pair with the PED.

You would definitely have to re-pair it. Every Bluetooth device has its own unique address. Pairing essentially communicates and stores the unique addresses of the two communicating devices with one another. So, for instance, if you wanted to use the B|AMP's Bluetooth pedal as a page turner with an IPad, you would have to reset the pedal, which would erase the dongle's address from its memory and then pair it with the IPad, which would learn and store the address of the IPad in the pedal. The Ipad would also, during this pairing process, learn the address of the pedal so it can communicate with it. Switching back to using the pedal with the B|AMP you would again have to reset the pedal (takes no more than 8 seconds to do) and then using the B|AMP's Bluetooth menu, re-pair the pedal with the B|AMP's dongle. It should be noted that we're talking about Bluetooth 4.0 LE (low energy). It is not backward compatible with earlier Bluetooth specifications. Our pedal and dongle will come as a paired pair, btw ;-}.
OK, here's a weird Q for the B|Amp users out there: are any of you using the B|Amp for ampless IEM gigs?
To me the B|Amp is pretty much the culmination of bass amp development; and I'm sure glad to have one. It is somewhat ironic that the amp arrives at a time when this somewhat quantum shift to the ampless IEM gigging is upon us. The Behringer X32 platforms are making what used to be high cost FOH centric shows more accessible to average club bands; and my current gig is headed that direction.
Just when I thought I had this bass amp thing all sorted out; now it changes. yay.
My current gig is doing our first no back line gig this next weekend. I have a couple of the newer preamp/DI's I'm thinking about using, especially an ISP Beta that I'm very impressed with. But, another option might be to just use the B|Amp with no cab. Anyone tried that yet?

Yes... I use Alclair custom molded (CMVK 5-driver) IEM's at my regular large/loud (three repeat service) church gig.
Awhile back, I tried an experiment... First/second services, I turned the cabs off, and went just IEM's (B|Amp DI'd>FOH)...Third service, IEM's/B|Amp DI, plus used my Berg REF322 combo. The cabs were sitting on a raised 14" cab platform/box we have, about 3' behind me.
Using only IEM's:
* I needed to run my IEM's with more volume, which meant an uncomfortable (to me) ear pressure from the extra low end driver's in them.
Using IEM's/Berg REF cabs:
* Lower volume in my IEM's
* Ability to set a nice balance between IEM's, and what I could still hear (and also really feel) coming from the cabs...kind of a "stereo-ish" front/back effect.
My initial question had been..."Do I need cabs, if I have really good IEM's?" No, the cabs aren't necessary...but, I prefer having cabs behind me, even using IEM's. If I were to go only IEM's...I'd probably not use an extreme "bass-heavy" IEM model. Of course, I enjoy air movement pressure, but prefer most of it on my back vs. in my ears. But to your question, yes---the B|Amp certainly works for ampless IEM gigs.
Full disclosure---I also use a Jule Monique pre>backline (with IEM's + DI'd to FOH) there on many occasions...

Got the pedal. It was delivered to my front door and I couldn't find the package at first! It's that small! Even though I knew the dimensions it's smaller than I expected. This is not a bad thing though. Works as described, cool looking and it's another technological step in the right direction. Thanks Jim!
Got mine but haven't had a chance to try it out. It's small enough that I just might mount it on my pedalboard.
Since the last firmware update my fan has started running quite often and quite loudly, anyone else experiencing this?
I'm about to go to an outside gig in triple digits and will post up how the amp runs when I get home.
Agree that the footswitch is tiny. Just arrived, but, I don't have time to shake it down before this gig.
Back from the gig. 104F at the downbeat. Amp ran strong on V4.0. Didn't hear the fan come on. FWIW. Wish I could be more help.

This is correct. 4.1 would be the necessary firmware rev to ensure proper Bluetooth pedal operation if you are using one. 4.0 (and 3.30) are fine if you're not.
