Bergantino NV212T

Thanks, you guys!

We're a fairly new band, and that was recorded about 3 weeks in. The picture was actually taken on Wednesday, at our first gig!

Everyone in that group (except for me) is an absolute pro. I'm just some guy who plays bass, and was in the right place at the right time.

I think I know how Tom Petty felt when they made him a Traveling Wilbury!

Regardless of which model of tweeter/driver he chooses the greater link in the chain is the crossover design. In that regard Jim Bergantino excels.

I've never been much of a tweeter guy but I've been rolling it in, ever so slight, on my 212T and it seemlessly blends the perfect amount of air without being shrill, clanking or hissy. The taper on the tweeter dial is very, very smooth.

If it's the same crossover he spec'd for the HD Series then the tweeter is glassy on top. I prefer that slope personally more so than the HDN series which is more pronounced.

My NV212T showed up this week and is my first Bergantino! Tonight is the first night I really was able to spend some time with it and all I can say is wow! Looking forward to a couple of long rehearsals this weekend to really put it through the paces with a full band. Not the best pic but was excited to share as I've been talking about getting this cab for awhile. Cheers to everyone for the great info and advice.

Right now I'm using my Markbass and am digging it. Still want to upgrade my head though but not entirely sure which I'm going to go for. Top contenders at this point are the Aguilar AG700, Trickfish Bullhead .5k, and the Bergantino Forte. Probably wouldn't use all the features the B|Amp offers though I think it's super slick. Form Factor seems like an interesting option too.

Would love to find some kind of tube option but not looking to add another 70lbs and also not looking to spend an $1500 + on a head.

I'll shoot some feedback after rehearsal tomorrow! Should be fun as we're working up three new tunes to take into the studio next month.

Congrats!!! Wish I could have justified the weight. Would have loved to go with the NV212

First day of use in a band setting and it was a little underwhelming I hate to say. It's not all due to the cab...acoustics of the room were not good and I think our overall volume was just too much for the space we were in. It also could have something to do with the pairing of my Markbass head not being a good fit.

Going to take a bit of getting use to I think and a little playing around to find the settings I like for it as well as probably some break in time for the speakers. There were songs and moments where I could hear the potential and long term I think I'll end up liking(hoping to love) it.

UPDATE... Swapped strings on my bass today as I had forgotten that I put an old set of Pressure Wounds on to get more of a thumpy Flatwound sound for the last recording I did so it's no wonder the sound didn't cut it yesterday and couldn't cut through a full rock n roll band. After the switch the cabinet is singing beautiful. The love affair has begun drool:hyper::thumbsup:

Depending on you budget (sorry for non-Berg direction), you might check out the Quilter Bass Block.

I have come to the conclusion that the MB Little Mark III is just not powerful enough for this cab. Need something a bit more muscular and with more headroom. Have it narrowed down to the Aguilar AG700 and the Berg B|Amp or Forte. How do the Berg Amps work for vintage rock and soul style music? Need to mess around with the B|Amp to see if I really like and would use all the extra bells and whistles. Looking forward to a new amp...not so much the cost :roflmao::D

If I remember correctly the LM3 has a different type of power section compared to the F1, which sounded more "solid" to my ears. But I would agree with your assessment, if you go with a ICE powered head I'd not settle for less than 700 watts minimum. 1000 is more preferable.
