best Fender bass???

I love my P-Bass.

Best bass (in terms of tone ) I ever played was a V. Bailey 4 that I had the preamp removed from, strung with GHS Precision flats-but I stopped playing a 4 and sold her.

My favorite Fender basses are the Roscoe Beck Signature series. Their tone is simply amazing!

They are pretty easy on the eye as well.

That would be my fretless Fender Victor Bailey Bass. The neck is slim and pretty fast. Very low action possible and the pu's are just........quiet!! Brilliant sound. Very happy with this bass.

My '75 Jazz. It's a hands-down winner. Better than my '61,'71,and,my 2 Jazz Bass Specials that I have.
But,I will give credit where it's due.... My "beat-to-hell"J-Bass Special is VERY,VERY close,in terms of playability.

When I was looking the '07s were still out and I didn't like the MIA Jazz at all, plus the S1 switch sucked.

S1 switch sucked? I sold a MIA P-Bass I bought because when engaged on my 2006 Jazz, the tone was exactly the same! Oh well, I guess you can't please everyone.

My early 67 P-bass with Badass II bridge... sounds unbelievable with a great growl and feels like a beautiful woman in your arms... amazing...

I've got two favorites. One contemporary, evolved and cleverly thought out and one rudimentary, no frills, meat-and-potatoes wonder of simplicity.

Modern = the Roscoe Beck V
Retro = '54 Precision

If I had to start from scratch and have only ONE bass - period, I would choose a P bass. Not the most versatile tonally, but the one tone it delivers is really all you need for just about any type of musical setting. It sits in the mix perfectly.

The P bass IS bass.

Probably a Geddy. It didn't WOW me, but it played nicely.

MIM jazz, MIA jazz, MIM p, MIA p...I've played them. Nothing great...just average.

I did play a MIM P/J that felt and sounded so bad that I've never picked up another P/J.

Marcus Miller V.... as far as i know the only 34" 5 string with a 7.25" radius fingerboard.
I've had 4 of them .......... 3 naturals, one black.
