The Roscoe Beck is a fine choice. Too bad they stopped production.

This one's a 2003 I got NOS in 2009. Great live or in the studio

I mentioned earlier that I like Precisions with a Jazz neck. Still true.

The best sounding Fender bass I've ever played is the P Bass Plus on the far right in the photo. The best looking Fender I've owned is the vintage cherry burst American Deluxe Jazz 5. The best feeling lowest action Fender I've owned is the CIJ Flower bass. The best bang for the buck "Fender" I've owned is the Squier Mustang SS. The most expensive Fender bass I've owned is the faded vintage white all original 1968 P bass. The cheapest "Fender" I've owned is the Squier Bronco. The best gigging "Fender" I've owned is the Squier Jazz 5 Affinity. The most unique sounding Fender I own is the Butterscotch Blonde VM Telecaster.

That's a hard question for me to answer. I like Jazz over P but I also really like the P bass elite and the urge.. I really like the urge, if I could find a fretless one of those I'd die.

My Precision Elite II. There's just something about this bass. Is it possible for an inanimate object to have soul?

However, lately I've found myself picking up my Dimension the most frequently. This one's really easy to play.

And...Anyone that hasn't tried the 2012 American Standards needs to get out there and give them a go.

Seriously, who thinks that a 40 or 50 or 60 year old bass is as good playing and sounding as the 2012 USA Fenders?...It is just your mind playing tricks on you.

My buddy recently came over with his 1960 all original Fender Precision. I let him play my 2012. He is retiring his 1960 (after 30 years of professional use).

If you had to play the basses in the dark and not know beforehand the age and pedigree and all that mind bending stuff - you will pick the superior instrument.

The best Fender bass is a Lakland.
