BEST fender p bass

With an unlimited amount of money, I'd buy a genuine vintage 50's or 60's Fender from an established dealer that had the contacts and expertise to help me find a good one.

A rung down from there, I'm probably the most curious about the Alleva-Coppolo KBP-4. Sadowsky P's could be sweet too.

For value, maybe used Lull P4 on the high end and definitely late 90's Fender MIA on the low end. After going through a bunch of Fender P's including a couple CS's and RI's, my favorites were the more ordinary MIA model. If you don't mind spending the time to find a good one, you'll get a lot for your money.

I had a 1999 MIA P-bass that was phenomenal. It felt really nice, sounded like a P-bass should and was a dream to play. I got it pretty cheap too.

where do you find cheap japan made p's? ive been looking for one, but all i see in my area are the MIMs...

My first real bass was a white Fender P with a Jazz profile neck that I got used from a guy in my high school in '72 for $175. For grins and giggles, there is a pic of it below, though the lead singer is blocking out the body. Sorry.

I wish I still had that bass.

Over the years, I've been through a few others. But, the one I really liked was a CS '59. That bass had it all. Unfortunately, i didn't take it home from the dance.

well theres an American standard and then theres a fender standard jazz or p the fender standards are MIM then im pretty sure that there are no CIJ standards

I've played them all and have owned quite a few P-Basses. The best one is the USA 62 Vintage Reissue. My close second is my Fender MIJ Classic 70s reissue P. Two excellent basses that for me shade it over the others. Can't go wrong with a good P-Bass . Value-wise the Japanese one gives the most bang for the buck,though and is a pro-level bass. And what a looker,too!
