What else?
I wear shoes that are specially designed for bass. The soles are made of a high-tech polymer developed by Dupont for the space program. This material advances the propagation of frequencies from 30hz through 4khz thereby increasing the transmission of bass output into the audience by 3db. For an upcharge, laces made of the same material are provided that will extend the augmented frequency range to 18khz for bassists who prefer the higher frequencies blended into their sound.
Sweet. That would probably be one of the LARC resins. We did some rheological testing on them a few years back for some similar uses but found that the tan delta had a weird drop out if there was moisture present causing some serious dampening. Hence once you start sweating they go to hell. So if you want a shoe that will withstand re-entry to Earth on the bottom of the shuttle - there you go. Otherwise not only will your feet stink when you work up a sweat, but your sound will suffer. We have some new polyphenylquinoxaline resins that beat the shite out of anything that Dupont makes. You should try MY shoes...
So THAT'S why I had to bump the mids half way through the gig. And I thought the warning label in the owner's manual regarding TD effect (tan delta) was something I could ignore. Live and learn.
