Nice! I never knew about Peavey 18" cabs until I found talkbass, now I'm finding out lots of people have them!

It's awful!


No really It's a really great head. I don't like alot of knobs and switches and all that. If I could make a head it would just have a volume and a tone knob. That's it. Either a head has a good sound to start with or it doesn't. I don't like to fiddle with knobs and really don't like knobs that you breath on and the sound changes dramatically. Trace did a really great job at keeping it simple and keeping with a vintagey vibe but with anything you would want out of a new tube head. Half power switch (sometimes 400w of tube is a little much) Two gain stages that you can footswitch (kinda like a clean / dirty) DI pre/post, Compressor which I usually don't like but I like the one on here, The fuses and LEDs for each set of tubes ( so your not totally screwed if a tube goes in the middle of a set) And it sounds really really good. Oh yeah and it's not that bad to move. The Trace 810's are really sweet cabs too.

Man do those ever look nice... Bet it would put GAS out in a hurry, at least for awhile. Might knock the bank account in the * but it would be worth it...

I just picked up a Peavey 412 TXF this evening. The thing weights a ton! Anyways... I know the rules... no pic, no big cab!

I will try to post a pic tomorrow. Unfortunately I don't have my Firebass to set on top of it for "picture time", it is at the practice space...
