Big E Speakers Part 4 - Quadraphenia

It is so much a matter of music style, instrument choice, etc. For an absurd what if, consider Francis Rocco Prestia meeting up with Mike to check out different cabs, followed by Marcus Miller checking the product line. A little while ago I saw some posts that Bobby Vega was interested in trying MAS. He being a pick/fingerstyle/slap accomplished artist who goes in and out of many genres it would be interesting to hear what his swiss army knife MAS cab would be. One man's ceiling is another man's floor.

Interrupting big rig talk for a moment:

I can't get the photo to work, but there's a tiny cab with a single 6" driver and a 3" mid on the Big E forum and MAS facebook page. Supposed to be roughly equal in output to a 1x10" (the EA Wizzy was used as an example - I know they're a staple, but I'm not so familiar with them) with similar extension to the 46/66.

Looks interesting.

Got out of the cave last night to rehearse for a house-band-at-jamnight gig (mtngrown - it's at Joe's in BC thurs Aug 6 - come sit in).
Took the full 210FlexMod. Kicked butt. Nice comments from the other musicians about the sound and punch.

More people are gettin on the radar. A nice fellow in S.cal just asked me for a quote to ship mine and he said bill me on paypal. I had to tell him call Mike 1st and tell Mike what you play and what are the venues. Mike stopped what he was doing and gave him the run down. This is a slow train running, but 5 years from now there will be a ton of BigE PA's, MAS bass cabs and home theaters by the other guys, or my name is mud. LOL once you play one in a club mix there is no going back. OK, once I played one in a club mix there was no going back. Lots of people still love fridges. Not me. And several years ago I aced the full on audiologist test in a booth after years of occupational aural assaults. Probably would not now, due to age and a renewed passion for music via headphones and live rehearsal and gigs etc. Hope Stanford University keeps hiring Leland and the guys. Going to Stanford tomorrow.(I'm the driver/caregiver) Send healing thoughts to all the patients at Stanford. Sorry for the derail.

Unless it's gear intended only for studio use, sounds like the ideal way to assess a piece of gear. Let me know if you ever want to test something from the amateur/hobbyist/bass-hack point of view. I have a lot of experience at that performance level.

How do these otherwise seriously power-hungry boxes react with the relatively low output from an all-valve head?

Big watts are always recommended other than for the 112 Essential LPT.
