Update: since acquiring my 210 Flex cab, I have had zero desire or need for a different speaker system. It handles any room, any amp, any style, better than I can imagine. Plus, I can easily move it around. Thank you so much for building it!

Mike's cabinets are truly CAS-terminators in the sense that I don't want or need to try any other builder's offerings. I am working toward replacing my living-room practice/backup cab with a MAS so I can enjoy the same revealing immediacy of response at home and ensure that my basses are ready to 'go live'. Nothing else compares with MAS speakers' ability to connect you with your instrument and other musicians. That's what it's about, right?

my wife is a commercial interior designer and we have all of the color decks here. I'm open to suggestions. Sherwyn Williams are the easiest colors to match but Benjamin Moore is cool, too. If anyone has a cool purple from those---I'm open to suggestions.

Had to mention---got a call from Bobby Vega yesterday. What a cool guy! between yesterday and today we must have talked two hours. He's on my level of gear-geekiness! And also one of the unsung geniuses of electric bass.

Get Bobby V to do Cab video demos.

Oh yeah. He's down for it to. He's really excited and wants to fly to Chicago to check out the whole lineup. I'm going to get a decent space where he can get a good idea. We can do decent videos ---I'll probably get some pros to do it.. Chris Buck (great West Coat bassist with many including Alan Holdsworth and Virgil Donati) is doing some professional videos with his new 112 and Skjold.

Glad to hear that the Skjold is 'in hand'!

Very cool, Is he still an SF Bay area resident? Would be fun to get him to attend the next GTG and give us some master class type time. There would be 3 or 4 of us with MAS gear there too. I enjoyed one of his videos where he mentioned getting a bass at Leo's music (Oakland Ca) where I used to go as a high school kid. The fact that he could fill in for Francis Rocco Prestia when called upon speaks to his talent IMHO. Not just anybody can do that, and play so melodically with Steve Kimock etc. Extremely well rounded electric bass Man!

Glad to hear more pros are getting clued in to your cabs Mike. Just a matter of time. The sound is undeniable. Now Leland has to slowly chip away at the ridiculous PA systems that have evolved via "modern" styles. I have excluded a few greater SF Bay Area venues where the sound people think the goal is a competition between the miked kick drum and the bass player. Hitting you with a sledge hammer in the chest from the kick, and a total mudslide from the bass. And I am talking about artists with 50 years of hits and gold records. I stick to small venues as a consumer now. One of which Mike has played a few times too I might add. That is why it bears repeating that the guy who is in the development mix with the inventors has played jazz clubs around the globe and has a clue what sounds good live;)

Folks have also mentioned the 250 based modules sounding more ragged/gritty, which may or may not be good depending on what your goals are, but it makes sense since those modules are bridged and each side is running at two ohms (and I believe they are only rated to 2.7 per side), so they are pushing them pretty hard, and in addition to the potential for thermal issues will also be getting higher THD.

Briefly sorta-off-topic: I have a Crest ProLite 2.0. Been running it in stereo mode and thought it sounded a bit anemic -- actually preferred running Monique through the effects return of the Demmie partly because of the aforementioned grit it added. Ran the ProLite bridged and, lo, even at low volume, there was a little bit of that same grit and edge, which I liked with Monique. Went back and forth a few times with my brother there -- definite difference. Might not be desirable in all cases (indeed, I think most people are trying to avoid distortion in the poweramp), but I preferred the sound in this case. Made me think of your above comment about the modules in the 800 being bridged.

Chip is a great description. Tough row to hoe. Talk about entrenched. I don't blame the providers though, their livelihood is on the line. Tried and true pays the bills. We will get there.

Nice thought, but the stages I play arent that big.

;-). Mebbe this isnt the right design for close monitoring?

Whelp, in the bars I work I'm always right on top of my rig--and we don't put instruments in the monitors. I can hear what I'm doing better with the MAS112 better than any other cab I've used...and I've been through a bunch of fine cabs.

Was totally in the happy place last night with it. Could hear every last detail in articulation (dead notes, string pats, slides, mutes, brushed chords with fingernails, pinch harmonics, the works). Yeah, it does help that our new guitarist doesn't mud the mix up the way his predecessor did, but even so, this cab is a quantum leap, IME.
