Even the Aerosmith/Run DMC thing was hard to watch. I liked the Prince tribute but it was overdone IMHO.
The Aerosmith thing was loud and obnoxious, and not in a good way.

The Prince thing mostly showed us what an unapproachable level of talent he had, through watching Usher, a good performer who can definitely sing, sound very "normal" singing those songs.

Not sure anyone but me heard this, but the keyboard player completely laid an egg on the solo in "Doves".

LOL

50 years from now, some kid will "think" about a song and it will appear, fully arranged and recorded...and that kid will win a Grammy......….The old phartz will all be posting on whatever serves as a future forum platform:
"Get a load of this krap. They call this music?
…….We had it so difficult, pasting loops and samples on tracks and using predone MIDIs with VSTi instruments....."

This is some of the most ignorant commenting I’ve seen on TB. Are none if you in touch with current music and we are gonna smack talk a girl who released this album when she was 17, wrote all the music and recorded it in her brothers bedroom with no high end producers, engineers or label-heads breathing down her neck?

Billie is a very gifted singer, songwriter and certainly the most talented in the genre currently. She wrote real songs about depression, suicide and anxiety. Not Benz’s and b*tches.

Billie is the real deal. Sorry the Beatles and Pink Floyd can’t still win years later because apparently no one has the ability to write a good record after 199x. You all sound like your dads.

Dude, she's not gonna go out with you.

This is a cool look at her and her brother's process for writing and producing the album:

It's not the type of music that most of us make here but I can definitely appreciate an album that was made in a bedroom sweeping the Grammys.

Keeps the profit margins higher. Imagine how much money the label saved by not having to pay for a real studio.
