Not to change the subject, but how about Poppy and her culty bipolar sunshine pop death metal?

She’s actually been around for awhile, formerly under the thumb of a svengali doing creepy breathy ASMR pop, and now is seemingly eclipsed by Billie, hence her ‘new’ direction. I wonder if Babymetal’s lawyers have called.

Grammy is a comedy.
I see usually a lot of rap /hip hop artist that mix it with everything won different awards .
It is more hiphop artists meeting that are usually black or weird (Rap/Hip hop).
Maybe that is what american people like.
Actually most US music production is more based on sampling of hip hop with different vocals styles.
Actually Us artists this days are super pop simple music .Grammy infected too.
I do remember few years ago black sabbath and a lot of guys were in main programe .

This year a lot of pop artist missed ,
Harry styles ,New albums sounds good and it is modern .
Bruno mars ,new album is a very good mix .

Rock band eloy .
Chris isaak
City and colour
and ....

They give attention to musicians who can make money for them.
Even if its by getting naked ,crying ,being emmo style or ...
They do not care about the quality at all.
Should I add they make someone big and they destroy him just few year after that!

Make it ,Use it, break it ,recycle it with new one .

was it as bad as folks say it was? i wanted to see it this morning but it is blocked in the u.s. (through normal channels).

Horrifyingly bad.

To quote a friend, “Joe Perry sounded like Marty McFly did when poopie started to disappear.”

I'm absolutely serious. There's a nice play or words or something linguistically clever in almost every line. And I went to graduate school for creative writing and have published a novel, journalism, poetry, short stories, etc.

Really? Here's some Lizzo lyrics. I don't see anything linguistically clever in almost every (or any) line:

Slow songs, they for skinny hoes
Can't move all of this here to one of those
I'm a thick bitch, I need tempo
F**k it up to the tempo

Pitty-pat, pitty-pat, pitty-pitty-pat
Look at my ass, it's fitty-fitty-fat
Kitty cat, kitty cat, kitty-kitty cat
Prrr me a glass, boy, I like my water wet
Throw it back
Throw it back, threw it back
Catch that
Catch that, catch that

I need a jack
Woo
For all of this ass, but it won't go flat
Wait a minute
Baby, baby
Baby
Come eat some of this cakey
Cake
He look like he could gain a little weight
A little weight
Lick the icing off, put the rest in your face
Face

What's clever or witty in any of that?

I just don't hear anything interesting as far as composition/harmonic content.

Then again, most of the music I hear today is more concerned with atmosphere/vibe than any of those 'old' musical metrics.
Seriously though. Dork around on soundcloud. You never know.

Kind of disappointed that in this era of 'political strife' (close as I'll get, per the rules) a rip-roaring, in-your-face punk movement didn't materialize, like in Thatcher-era England.
I think that's because for something to reach that kind of critical mass, nowadays, it's just a lot harder, too much competition. I know Rage Against the Machine is back, it'd be nice to have a young and upcoming band that has the same impact. Godless knows we need one, right now.
