CTBassman60 - I want metalflake purple. Or lighten it a bit to fuschia. :-) I don't do much with chords or alternate tunings, but an E-C Hy5 is on my list. My 2nd bass was originally going to be cherry and your bass makes me think about what might have been. The NEXT one will be cherry. (at least that's what I keep telling myself).

Mazereth - it sounds like you found the right place and people.

Scott and Jamie are great people and great friends. Early customers were saying it before I met them and it just keeps on going.

Well, I'm a relatively new customer and I have been saying it too.

Scott and Jamie are fantastic people to deal with -- both personally and as business people.

Besides, what company can you call and get the owner on the phone. And have him actually talk to you without rushing you off?

Seriously? Genz-Benz.

oh...sorry...wasn't supposed to do that was I? Wrong forum. :hiding:

GB is a little more "it's a company, not a family" than Birdgon, but two GB employees are on FB in the amps section (agedhorse and hasbeen) and field a ton of questions. When I called the company to leave a compliment regarding my Shuttle 3.0, I was forwarded to Jeff Genzler.

Howdy all -

Ok, by the graciousness of Ben and his payment plan, I have just sent off the final amount needed to take possession of Hy5 7H-002 :hyper:

I absolutely cannot wait to get it in my grubby hands :bassist:

I've been seriously thinking about a Hy-5, but I don't have the funds right now.

When it comes, let us know how you like it and make us even more jealous. :)

Sorry for the delay in the update. Things have been crazy busy at work - combine that with a 2 year-old and a 4-year-old and my feet haven't touched the ground for weeks.

Thankfully 8C-062 arrived so I now have a perfect companion in those few quiet moments to get my head to a better place.

I'm really happy with her - just an absolute joy to play. Will post more when I get time...

Just received the Hy5 from Ben yesterday, and I gotta say, she sure is a beaut! Only had a little time to tinker yesterday, and won't be able to plug her in 'til Sunday, but I'm VERY happy with her. Ben was absolutely wonderful throughout the whole deal process (heck, anyone who will actually let you do a payment plan--that you can trust--is s pretty special person in their own right). I'm happy to know that he'll still have a few Birdsongs in the household :)

I know, no pics, no bass. I'll get them up this afternoon.

On another note: I went on a cruise to Cozumel last weekend, and while walking up on the Lido deck (no, didn't see Isaac or Gopher up there) I catch a guy walking around with a Birdsong t-shirt. I walked up to him and mentioned that I had just bought one (thinking he was an owner, as well). Turns out it was Travis, who works at Birdsong.

I considered that a sign that I had made the right choice.

I almost made that one my first BS, too. Only reason I didn't was because I wanted to make sure I could whoop-up on it, and with the 1.75" nut, thought it better to go with a 4 banger. Of course, now that I have a 4.....

Ben was great, as you know, and I'm just lucky that I was able to stumble upon a sweet used deal any way...though I would have liked to have helped Ben...and Scott...

Ok it's been too quite here so here's a few pics of my new Birdsong fretless that is shipping today.
Standard blackwashed Cortobass with ebony control plate also Scott woodburned fret markers in between the dots so each fret has a marker.
The wait is killing me.

BanditoC... You just beat me to it. I visited for the same reason, too quiet by far in my little corner of Birdsongland. And then only your post be new! :eyebrow:

My black walnut baby has gotten to the stage where each day with no update is an eternity! :hmm:

The head Woodgnome tells me 4-6 weeks depending on the neck and Hipshot orders. Grrrrrr!

Without inflicting the details on you all, Skyrider 9K-001P should land in Wisconsin about the time I'll be officially declared cancer free after my radiation treatment. This is all coming together at the perfect time! I'm OK, they got it all, so no worries...

So to whet the appetite of the fencesitters, "Baby do got back!"

:hiding:

If you know anyone looking for a strong 8.5-9 condition Elitist EB3, my girl "Cherry Baby" is looking to see other people once the Skyrider lands!

Peace Folks!
