Blackstar Amplification Club

Ouch! Sorry brother! You're just far more "seasoned" and intelligent than the average 38 yr old!

Ha ha - not so sure about that, but I am sure that the 3 preamp voices combined with the three output voicings really does allow for a lot of tones.

The 'classic'-->'6550' voicing has, on occasion, scooped a little of the wrong mid frequencies for a couple of tracks, but a quick flick of the voicing knob to 'flat' has remedied that.

You can get a cover made perfectly for your blackstar amp...

Official Blackstar Unity U500 Combo Padded Cover
Downside is its a bit pricey - $68 us shipped from the UK.

OR - you can do what I'm doing. Just ordered this...

https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/RumMultiCvr--fender-rumble-200-500-stage-amplifier-cover
For $20 and free shipping. The dimensions are very close to the U250 and U500 and should fit.
When you get your amp, Blackstar sends you a nice sticker....that will go right over that Fender logo! ;)

Yip the UK covers are a little pricey- but VERY nice.

I do however like your thinking on the fender covers! Well played indeed.

Sounds great! Nice view behind you too - New Zealand is a beautiful country! Is that Lake Taupo?

It’s Lake Taupo alright- this is a tiny venue built out over the lake. That was a beautiful summer afternoon/evening in February.

It was one of those little shows that I didn’t mind a smaller crowd- it was just a beautiful little place to play at a beautiful moment.

Good eye!

And I hear you in cost- It took a while to pull the plug on my covers.

Loving the silent practice feature.

Anybody have some experience with the smaller amps, 60 or 120 watt versions? I desperately want to replace my old peavey head and (sealed) 210 cabinet but our local GC only has the big 250 watt Unity. I've been downsizing my collection, since I only play at home, and got rid of my 215 cabinet and the 210 just has no low end. Would love to hear some real opinions as all the u-tube reviews are recorded with the direct out.

I did play a U60 at a local competitor to GC several weeks ago. Lot's of options built into this little amp. Not so little in sound. If you're only playing at home, you won't be anywhere near half volume. Chorus and compression as good as my U250. Classic, modern and overdrive voicings all sounded great to me.

I don't think you can go wrong with any amp from Blackstars unity line!
