What DI do you guys use and how you guys set in in the pedalboard? I bought at Neve DI and I'm struggling with the sound to FOH.

I am using a Tech21 ParaDriver DI after the Core, but I am using it as a 'tone-sweetener/instant access frequency fixer' and I wouldn't mind just using it's 1/4" jack out to a provided DI.

What are the problems you are struggling with ? Are you not overloading the DI, the Core has a lot of output IME.

Overloading the signal and also mismatch between the signal I'm sending to FOH and de one I'm sending to the amp. I'm using R out to feed my amp and Left/headphones to feed the DI signal.

@rafitoprtx

In the Main Out (or Sub Out) block > Main Output Settings, make sure to the Main Out Level Select is set to -10dBu. +4dBu is line level.

What do you mean with "mismatch"? Using a stereo output to feed two different destinations is a bit hacky, need to know what you are doing. Use the sends for additional outs instead, if not sure. You can either configure the effect sends as a sub out, and send that to FoH, or set the effect send type to BRANCH OUT (mutes the return).

I haven't had a problem overloading inputs, but I set every block to unity gain (same volume level going in and out). There is also a level selector in the output block. The +4dBu setting might be too hot for some (active) direct boxes, so make sure it's set to -10dBu.

As for DIs, I mostly use whatever the venue has, but carry a Whirlwind DIRECT2 in the cable bag

I've been using a Pinstripe Pedals MISO and getting great results:

MISO – Mono Line Isolator | Pinstripe Pedals

Line isolators are cool as long as the preamp can tolerate and properly load a line-level signal (that want to see >10k on the inputs). A regular, inexpensive passive DI is a foolproof way to do it for line-level sources, and allows the FoH engineer to bring up the gain at the desk as needed.

EDIT: Oh. Pinstripe Pedals calls the product a line isolator, but the marketing states the unit uses a Jensen JT-DB-E ("Direct Box") transformer with a 12:1 turns ratio and roughly -22dB of voltage gain. So it's a direct box after all?

Thank you all for your answers. To explain what I do, I use to use a Digitech Cabdriver to split my signal to FOH with Cabsim and use the clean signal to feed my amp. Use to work great but the GAS in me make update to the GT1000 core. I was using a passive active Samson DI. And with the old set up sound great but with the Boss it sound to loud and with clipping distortion even when I pad down the input. Then I change it to a passive Samson DI that i had in it was to weak.
I bought a Neve that is suppose to have high headroom input. But now I have to turn down the gain in my mixer or just as a little. But in a gig the sound guy is used to the passive one and I'm concern that i will blow the PA before I'm turn down during sound check. I will try the -10 pad thing on the output first.
Thanks for the feedback/input!

Anyone using a pedalboard power supply for their core?

I've got a cheap power supply that isn't cut out for the job so either need to use two plugs or get a more capable supply that could drive the GT core too.

I bought a 'crazy expensive' Cioks DC7 to power my pedalboard. It has 7 outlets of 660 mA (at 9 Volts) each. The Boss Core draws 670 mA but it runs just fine on one of these outlets.

It was a lot of money but every time I power up my pedalboard I feel smart that I spent this money on a good power supply instead of just some new taste of 'drive' :)

Ooo someone's selling one locally unused fro £180 instead of £220 retail price. If it was a little closer to payday and I hadn't been stung by loads of vets bills I'd snap it up. Good to know though, if it hasn't sold in the next few weeks I might snatch it. So much money though I've been heavily GASing over the eae Model Fet pedal that replicates the Sunn Model T head which is a particularly nourishing taste of drive but guess it can wait
