Yes, I know it can do +1/-1, but can one button jump to Preset 023 and another jump to present 123, etc.?

Do you mean the switches in the midi controller? If so, you absolutely can, that's how I use my midi controller:

Each one of the switches on my MC8 activates that preset in the Core. If I press and hold the switch, it sends me to another bank in the MC8 where I can switch individual blocks in the Core on and off as needed:

Hope that helps!

Would love to see how you are setting this up. Perhaps I need to get a Morningstar because I don't think my futurist can do it.

Alright, another thought on customizing sounds.

To get a Russian muff sound, I suppose one could use the muff distortion block and connect an eq block to it and write a command that the distortion and EQ come on at the same time to get the muff closer to a Russian. But, wouldn't the EQ block also alter/ color the rest of the line?

Would you put the EQ block before or after the distortion?
Would you put them together in a loop with clean going under it?

Maybe I'm thinking too hard....

that's how I have my fuzz sound dialed, minus the EQ. Parallel Fuzz and clean lines

On my main patch, I have the fist switch assigned to turn on a Touch Wah and an EQ, and turn off Reverb and delay, second switch does the same for Octaver, and third switch combines the two. It’s pretty amazing what you can accomplish with the assigns!

My main patch is quite similar:
First switch octaver,
second switch envelope filter and
third switch does a slight boost with a little reverb (my solo sound).

Plus the volume pedal doubles as a wah via the pedal switch

So, my dog knocked my Core off it's stand and the Select button got knocked off, with the shaft coming off and getting bent! It looks like a simple fix, but I need to get a new shaft. Any thoughts on where I can get parts? I put in a parts request through Roland, but I'm hoping I can get it elsewhere, and faster.

Roland is your best bet for parts. Is the unit under warranty? If so, just contact Roland support directly. They'll likely insist you send in your unit. Bought some parts for my GTK last year and they had to be shipped from Japan, so prepare for some downtime.

All the pots and switches are pcb-mounted, btw, so a DIY repair is out of question unless you're handy with a soldering iron.

The pot seems to be fine. The shaft popped out clean, but was bent.

I figured the the full GT is only marginally bigger than my current board, and it has a lot of features I will utilize, one more FX block, more footswitchs, integrated pedal. I’m joining a Prog band, so more FX and easier patch changing will make my life easier. Working on getting the knob fixed on the CORE, and selling the whole board as one will pay for a used GT.

Makes sense given your needs
