Two quick things, can I assign the Output Assign to one of the five knobs?
Can you assign a button to switch between an A & B signal path within a preset?

Thanks!
Do you mean six knobs? I'm referring to the full GT-1000 here. Not sure all of the details about the first question (will have to check) but I assign SUB OUT to knob 6 so I can quickly adjust the signal going out to the board via XLR. The second questions is a definite yes. Just go to the assigns and it's a click or two away. You can assign the A/B switch to any foot switch.

Yes, 6 knobs. And thanks!

I have a HPF set at 40 Hz in the global output EQ... But I do not use the Concert amp, maybe that one lacks some in this region? Did you try without the Concert amp and it still needs this boost? Or maybe your amp needs this boost? Or maybe it's just MY amp that needs this cut...?

Actually I didn't test excepy for my own amp. I also have this 40 Hz HPF on the channel I send to FOH and never tested/evaluated this (facepalm).

I finally got to use the GT-1000 with my band. It sounded GREAT! I made a patch this morning using the Concert amp. For my purposes, I feel like the key to using this unit is having an always-on EQ block after the amp with a boost at 40 Hz. It was punchy, strong, and clear! The chorus, flanger, and phaser all sounded great too in the mix.
Nice, I got to use mine at church again today. Loved it. Lots of punch and so warm and full. Concert amp here, too with the bass in my profile pic (avatar).

I find that if I turn the bass control on the Concert model up too much, it gets boomy. But if I just keep it around 60-70 and boost 40 Hz using the parametric block with a. Q of 2 (or it might be 1), it gives me oomph without having to turn the overall volume up too much. I run XLR to my EV P1250 power amp into a 2x12 and 1x15 Warwick cabs.
The EV has an onboard HPF at 15 Hz.

Interested in the GT-1000 Core. Is there a way to trial the engine on a PC/Mac before buying? Trying to decide between this and the HX Stomp, and the HX has a desktop app that I can trial the interface and sounds. Would be awesome if Boss had something similar, but I can't find it.

You can download the BOSS Tone Studio (BTS) editor and use in offline mode. However, you can't load presets.

Had a nice christmas present (by myself), a Boss SY-200 Synth. There was no synth player available for my post-punk/goth/hc band band, so I decided to try the pedal. It gets me 75% there, not bad.

No effects in the SY-200, so it sounds a bit dry. Needs modulation and reverb, some delay maybe. For my basic bass sound I use flanger and chorus, dirt, compression, utilities like hpf/lpf, eq, tuner and so on. What if I found one box to do it all?

The SY-200 interface is surprisingly good, sharing some elements with GT-1000Core. So I started reading this discussion. Read all of it. Halfway through I knew I need/want a Core, to replace my current pedalboard with it, using it simultaneously for bass and synth. I love my BF-2, Julia and Okko Cocaine, but it just might get me close enough. I could add some extra footswitches, a small midi controller, expression pedal or two and fit everything on a Pedaltrain Metro 20 or 16. Maybe have space for an additional pedal. Not to mention all those midi mapping possibilities.

Resistance was futile. Today I placed an order. Some time next week then.

But SY200 + GT1000 Core + footswitches = SY1000 or not? Well you probably considered but I am curious why you are getting the Core.

Good question!

Core: two inputs, two fx loops. More routing options. More effects blocks (I think?). Small. Can add as many or as few extra switches and controllers as I choose. Also, the SY-200 is a extremely simple to use, instant gratification thing. Plus, they look nice together.

SY-1000: needs GK pickup (I know it works without but then I’d feel like not using most of its features). Big (relatively). Too much versatility in the synth department (I play analog synths, but it is no fun editing synth parameters on a little screen). And, knowing myself, I’d end up getting a GK pickup eventually, then one more bass to install it permanently, then another bass…

A huge reason I got the Core specifically, and something that most other high-end multi-effects units lack (including the GT-1000 and GX-100), is the stereo inputs. Many support stereo out and stereo effect loops, but two inputs is a necessity for a dual-output instrument. So there's a narrow case for not getting the full version :)
I've had a mic and a bass going through those two inputs together...a stereo sampler...very very useful, as you say.

An SY300 = SY200 + GT1000 Core (For the most part)

The SY1000 has a lot of MIDI trigger stuff absent in the SY1, SY200 and SY300
I checked both SY300 and SY1000 out of curiosity. It seems the SY300 doesnt do amp modelling and also doesnt have parallel effect paths. The SY1000 does have amp models (a few more than the Core) but there is only 1 divider/mixer! So clearly the SY1000 isn't the flagship I thought it was.
