I’m in Florida right now and Florida doesn’t really get the good stuff too often. So I brought my own but I did grab this in the Publix yesterday. It’s pretty good!

Notnsure what it is like in NY anymore since I stopped the fall hunt a few yrs ago but back then, you had to make a lot of facetime in a store, buy product in front of the right people and talk about it with them leading well into the fall to even be considered. It was a fun game but I aint got time for that anymore and my liver has been plenty punished already.

Honorable mention goes to Pikesville Rye for those that brought up Ryes a couple pages back. For an another affordable hidden gem, I'd recommend finding a bottle of Jim Beam distiller's cut. Paid around $26 here in NH for a great non chill filtered 5 to 6 year old Kentucky straight bourbon.
NH is like a paradise for bourbon. Cheap prices and excellent selection.

Not too shabby in NH. The Jim Beam distiller's cut was only $24 in fact. I know because I saw the price today while I picked up a Stagg Jr. at $50. Too bad they didn't have the George T. Stagg and yes the Jr. is worth the price.
Yep. There was a spot we'd stop at in Troy every time we were out that way. I don't remember the name, but I know it was by a McDonald's.

I haven't been out that way in about 20 years. Troy is in the Capital District of NY state, I'm about 250 miles to the west.
Still, NY (other than NYC) generally has a good selection at fair prices. Close to me a business just opened that specializes in whiskey flights. One of my former HS classmates runs it on Mon & Wed nights, I may have to pop in to see what the buzz is all about.
Which is why I excluded NYC in my original post.
Western NY is still pretty fairly priced.
BTAC is not retail though...is it?
I have seen retail higher than the secondary prives listed below your image. The last stagg bottle I bought at retail was $400 and that was 2 or 3 years ago. I gave up on the fall hunt after that yr.
