Bourbon...

I'm just waiting patiently for the bourbon craze to move on to some other spirit and then the prices will come down to what is reasonable again.
Until then, I don't go out of my way to hunt for bourbon, but I'll poke around the aisle in a grocery store or stop in a liquor store that looks out of the way and might have a gem hiding on the shelf.

Just opened a bottle of this tonight:

Not as good as the 200ml 1953 Samaroli single malt my fiancé had with cola when I was at work one night. When I came home she said “What was that stuff? It was gross. I had to mix it without something!” That’s when I saw the empty bottle in the dish drain.
Ouch! Is the engagement still on?
You should have put some Evan Williams in front of the single malt. Incidentally, Evan Williams bottled in bond finally showed up in NH and on sale for $11. It's a steal of a deal. Heaven Hill is heaven sent for thrifty bourbon lovers. If you need to replace that single malt, maybe find a bottle of their (Heaven Hill's) 27 year old small batch barrel proof. $399 if you can find it.
