Buzzard's Bass - DO NOT to business with him!!!

Well, to bring some counterweight: I bought a pickguard in January '14 and everything was cool.
- what he promised I got.
- he sent me an e-mail about the procedure, and the process went accordingly.
So, my guess is, if you buy from him in a no-nonsense way, you're cool.
That's my humble opinion anyway.

I have read it and I can't find anything wrong with it.
He is extremely clear, there's a bit of selfprotection even.
For example:
Questioning me about product descriptions: The description is available on the page that lists the product. If information is lacking that is all the info I have available. Asking me more about an item isn't going to help. If there was more info it would be within the description already. Contact the manufacturer . . . woah . . . déjà vu . . . did you see that too~?
If you went into a store and an employee spoke to you in this manner, I suppose you'd be okay with that?

Questioning me about anything using text via your phone: If you cannot get to a computer with a monitor screen to click on a link to view any item asking me via your phone isn't helping me so I am not going to be very pleased about you not doing your due diligence. Need to hear that another way~? If you are so lazy that you cannot do the clicking and get the information yourself then I am not here for your time because all you are doing is wasting mine. Nine out of ten people don't even provide me the courtesy of a response after I've emailed them all the information I have concerning their questions. A simple thank you from you goes a long way . . .
Especially this one.

Hahaha, well fair enough, he doesn't seem to be mellow yellow...
I guess his real problem is, he makes everything personal:
If one has an issue, he takes it as a personal attack and reacts in a exploding kind of way, while one was only stating an issue with service or quality or whatever.
Now, this Buzzard bashing has been going on so long, anyone in his shoes would become very defensive.
It will be a hard bite for him to swallow al the dirt thrown at him and try to change.
>> having said that, I myself had a fine experience as stated before.

I'd encourage anyone who has had a positive or negative (or even neutral) experience to write a review on Yelp. I created the entry - but I've never dealt with the guy so I can't really leave a review.
Invalid Link Removed

If a few people leave reviews, it will start to show up on google searches for his company. I'm not affiliated with Yelp - I just use it all the time - whenever I'm about to buy something I always check the Yelp reviews. You have to register to leave a review but you don't have to use your real name (I'm not really Andy Panda - not even an Andy)

This is the kind of seller that gaves ebay a bad name...I used to purchase without a second guess, now I check feedback first and go from there. I got burned on a steinberger synapse, the guy said it was factory new, it got to my house and had the word USED stamped on it, wich from what I understand means its been refurbished, if I had known that I WOULD NOT have bought it, and he did know....now if its more than 20 bucks I ask a lot of questions. :(

I disagree with the folks who suggest there's two sides to these stories. In my case, I was gathering up parts for a Warmoth swamp ash Jazz build (it's gonna be so so so sweet by the way...haha) and was spreading the love around between Stew Mac, Allparts, Warmoth and through a google search for a 3 hole '62 style control plate, the infamous "Buzzard." The e-mails from me were concise and to the point as to exactly what I needed and for what. But I think he got derailed by the 3 hole plate...he couldn't accept that it had nothing to do with '62 concentric pots, but that I'm going standard V-V-T with a side routed output. Simple, right? Well not so much. So he ended up sending 2 knobs only (I, of course need three) that didn't fit the pot shaft that was clearly described several times in the e-mail chain. So I let him know, only to get an insane 5 AM e-mail from him all "***, a**holes like you, you don't have a clue", etc. So now I'm like, screw this, I'll send it all back and get the stuff somewhere else. Whoa!! That was the last straw! Now he amped it up big time!! Telling me "Now I'm pissed. I accept NO RETURNS from a**holes like you!!" Wow. Paypal has been all pro and have assured me that I'm covered but I've got like 20 epic e-mails from this maniac that belong on his greatest hits album for sure.

He's becoming such a legend here I'm starting to feel weirdly honored to have received the straight up, unadulterated "Buzzard treatment"!

Well that's another cookie indeed. This is rude and unprofessional behavior, even if he is completely right.
(which he is not, if I read your post correctly).
>> This is not business worthy, with these kind of messages I understand that people won't be doing business with Buzzards anymore.

You know what could solve almost all of Buzzard's problems? Someone else to answer the gatdang (proverbial) phone. Seriously, it's not like his prices & selection are unreasonable, he's just batpoop crazy. If he had a mouth-to-internet filter, he could probably run a solid business. A sales manager could deal with customer inquiries, correspondence, returns, etc.

I used to know an amp repair guy who was, lets just say, "gruff." So, we didn't give out his phone number. If you needed to talk to him, you'd go through us, and we'd pass the message along (and vice versa.) I can't imagine how many customers that retained.

He was looking for a person to do this a while ago. IIRC, the wording involved "someone to deal with all the meatheads so I don't have to..."

Haha, yeah, I think it goes without saying that it would have to be a very, very patient person to deal with him. I'd be willing to give it a shot (believe it or not, I've worked for crazier) but the pay would have to be absolutely exorbitant.
