Having newly added a LMII to my Epifani PS112, I couldn't be more pleased with the tone, however I have noticed one "problem". Anyone here have a problem with the screw heads on the top of the cabinet making scratches on the bottom of the LMII (the feet arent deep enough for the head to "clear" the handle/screws). Not really a big deal, just wondering.

Yeah, I was thinking about changing the feet out, but for right now I just keep a polishing cloth in the amp bag that I can use on my bass. I just got some feet (and a spring handle) to put on the bottom of my cab. Maybe I'll go ahead and get some rubber feet for the amp.

There are definitely GC's in Michigan, but none carry MB stuff. The Chicago GC still charged me 8% sales tax though!

Wow, ok, so all that matters is there's a GC in the state... I need to double check with Ken... I thought for SURE he told me he didn't pay tax...

Yes... GC is in Michigan. I paid tax, but no shipping (they threw the shipping in, and a few other little goodies, since it was a floor model).

There tax policy is that if they have a store in the state where you are ordering from, they charge sales tax, which I guess makes sense.

Okay, that's what I was told when I got a bass from Georgia. IIRC I didn't pay shipping either and because they didn't tell me about tax when they gave me the total, I ended up getting the sales price discounted. Not without some minor drama.

Folks, Ken was able to stop by very briefly today on his way back home so I could hear the SD800 first hand. I must say, I'm IMPRESSED! I don't know if one will be on my list or not, time will tell, but it definitely has the horsepower thing going on for SURE.

One of the rigs we listened to is my LMII into my pair of EA NL-210's. This was a great sounding rig. I've gigged with it myself and can tell you first hand it holds up in a mix very well indeed with a nice tight, full, and controlled low end, as well as punchy mids and clear highs. Good stuff!

I picked up a used Shroeder 410R cab near Kevin Brubaker's shop today so I stopped by on the way home. Got a chance to check out his latest "mutt" rig...

He has an SD800 driving a small Mesa Boogie 15 loaded with a Peavey Black Widow 15. His bottom cab is a Bag End S15D loaded with an Eminence Delta Pro 15. This setup is flat out sick.

With the gains around 3 this setup is incredibly loud, clear and physical. Sounded like a single sound source, the two cabs blending seamlessy together, much like my original Bag End/Nahas setup. He said he'd already gigged with it outdoors and he and his bandmates were shocked at what this setup was putting out. Tone for days and the ability to easily shift internal organs.

Since my 1-15 Nahas expands on what his BE cab does and I have an EV/Mesa Boogie 400w Black Shadow 15 I was looking to use again... I know the config of my next cab;). That rig would be slightly taller than my current mini rig (and still only 18" wide) and basically smoke anything I've heard out here, short of some massive colliseum rig.

Anything.

OH, by the way to those who are interested, I got my LMII from the Guitar Center in Flint, MI. They are *NOT* on the markbass dealer list.

You can walk into any GC and get one actually, as per Peter Murray. It was fairly painless, and mine will be delivered to my door in 3 days. :)
