Can I swear on Talkbass?

Swear words are one of the more bizarre customs, probably ever. You can't say this, but you can substitute this sonicly (sic) different vocalization, that means the exact same thing, and all is good. :rollno:

Look, I get that we are judged by the words that come out of our mouths ( or off the tips of our fingers ) in today's society but the concept of swear words is dumb imo.

Judge by content and intent, not sound.

I am a serious outlier for this I know but it's always bugged me. An interesting aside is that persons who cuss, by and large, are the more honest, happy and intelligent folks according to social experiments.

I'm sure there are a few that debunk it. Ah well, such is life :)

Why would you want to?

More to the point, why would anyone reading a post of yours want to hear you do so?

If what you have to say wouldn't be suited for network TV, the workplace, or your family, don't post it here

:roflmao: Network TV shows bare butts, tons of skin, is heavy on sexual innuendo, and profanity is routine. In my workplace, swearing every 3rd word in a sentence is the least offensive thing to come out of anyone's mouth. And my family isn't the Waltons by any stretch. My point is just that using this as a metric for behavior is perhaps unwise.:laugh::laugh:

My third grade teacher Mrs. Fox would always respond to kids asking "can I go to the bathroom" with "yes you can but you may not." That's always stuck with me.

Wow! I just had a fiashback of a scary Dominican nun decked out in full penguin brandishing a yardstick while reading that. I can only imagine the ghost of Sister Anita Marie chuckling to herself and thinking: Well at least we got through to few of them."
