Sorry this happened, but thanks for posting. The first thing I will do when mine comes in is check for secure wiring.

You'd better, haha. The fact of a bass being awesome doesn't justify frying batteries!

It looks like the wiring to the battery. It's where they soldered the + and the - together in series to make the +18 volts. Just cover the exposed wire ends with some electrical tape and tuck it back into to cavity...you'll be fine.

That's exactly what I did. So far so good!

Well, since I have my camera and the bass in hands, I figured it was about time to post some pictures of my new baby! Been so entertained playing it since it arrived that I even forgot to take pics ;)

So I use Carvin nickels on my SB and love them, but I'm wondering if anyone uses stainless strings on their SB?? If now, what strings do you like best on your SB?

I've been loving DR LoRiders on my Nordy and would like to try them out on my SB5000...

I was using Lowriders on my Carvin. I have some Fodera compressed wound SS on her now. Plays real nice, but not as warm as the nickels...

Jarrett totally wins on the "most owned SB's" front, but here's mine. And I gotta' say, I've been so happy with it, I've literally looked at all the others posted here and on their web site and not had any GAS at all. It's just insanely good. I almost feel sorry for Jarrett as he's really struggled to find "the one" it seems like, whereas I got it on the first try. Maybe I'm just lucky. :)

Thats Juicy! really sweet looking bass! :bassist:

Okay, finally ordering a SB5000 this week.

Question; I called and ask if I could request a light body (probably going with Alder) and they told me yes but they would charge me $25-35(can't remember).

Anyone else ask for this and if so did they come thru? Really would like to keep it under 9.5lbs.... love it to be under 9lbs..

You going for the chambered option too? My SB4K is under 8. I asked for a light body and then had it chambered.
