Carvin's BX1500 and B2000

i may try one or the other of these two , but ive almost decided thta only one preamp tube makes almost no difference .
The B2000 has almost identical power with the B1500, but a lot less weight, all good.
The real kicker is the 900w @ 8 ohm bridged from the BX1500, I think that is one of the highest from any integrated bass head? I can only think of the Eden WT1205 which has a higher rating.
You could have three of the B2000's in your rack and it'd still be 2 lbs lighter than one B1500 and 3 times the available wattage. That's a huge jump.
The Genz Benz Shuttle 9.0 will give you 900 watts at 8 ohms. But, it won't go to 1500 watts at 4 ohms!
The new BX1200 models are about 15 pounds without the case, so the BX1500 is slightly lighter.
Once you go through the check-out process, the deduct $100 from the price, thus $599... all good.
Did you buy one? If so, you have to post a review ASAP after you get it. I know they aren't due to ship for a couple weeks...
I'm really hoping that these new heads don't have the issues alot of the other lightweight heads have had at initial run. I loved the BX500, and went through two of them before I gave up. That 1500 is incredible for the price !
I would think that Carvin worked through design/manufacture issues with the BX500, thus the new amps should be solid. I do have my eye on the B2000 and with Carvin's return policy, just might take the plunge when they become available. It might be a nice contrast to my Mesa amps.
I'm hoping you're right. My newer model BX1200 (15 lbs) is going strong so far. *crosses fingers*
I hope you get that B2000. I'd love to read your review and also see how they compare to your other amps.

I have no interest in either of these two new big guns, personally; but, I think it's very cool what's going on here!
I tried a B1500; and it just wasn't me. If it did suit me, it sure would be nice to have "all that plus some more power" in a new smaller, lighter package.

After having sold 2 heads I thought the next amp would be either the Orange or 7 Pro; looks like 2 more contenders.

The Orange would have to be incredibly incredibly incredible to make me even consider it. I can't imagine anything that would be that far beyond all the other gear out there to want something that looks like a Monty Python joke of a kiddie lunch pail that mated with a portable welder out behind the schoolhouse. It has a form factor that is clunky as all get-out - an impression heightened by that stupid tall handle.

The Carvins on the other hand intrigue me because they are cheap, and could be immensely powerful and perhaps sound great adjusted one way or another - even the older model the B1500 has a goodly amount of EQ. Nope the new Carvins aren't minis, but at least they'll only take two rack spaces and have a great watt-per-pound/dollar index. I posted on them in the fEarful thread a couple days ago because they're among the first of the lighter heads that actually have the potential to really drive a 12/6 or 15/6 near full excursion.

They really have stuffed alot into one head, at least as far as the 1500 goes - two different eq's, a crossover, a compressor, able to bridge into 8 or 4 ohms, bi-amp capable, tube, etc. Wow, what's not to like?
I just spoke with the guys in the Hollywood store, and there is no conformation of the B1500 being discontinued. The new B2000 is tempting due to the lighter weight, but I'm wondering if it will sound as good as the B1500 without the large transformer, not to mention that the B2000 is a hybrid amp as apposed to the B1500 being 100% solid state. As usual just when I think I'm satisfied and no longer wanting any new gear they pull me back in...lol
