You say "these days" as if there was once some golden era of correctness when nobody ever got anything wrong. It's as okay as it ever was to get things wrong.
Except this is the information age. Unlike the past, there is virtually unlimited access to correct pronunciation, spelling and grammar. That doesn't mean that there will be no mistakes, but IMO it does mean that there should be fewer mistakes.
