Alright...just got back. It is 2:10...and the show went great!!!!!! There was standing room only, people were dancing, and there was a line around the building of people waiting to get in. All was good until the 2nd to last song...the only one I sing...I played the WHOLE THING a half step in the wrong key!!!!! Oh well, live and learn....one more reason for me to concentrate on playing bass and NOT singing.

Sorry So late people gig went great no problems nice room and the club wants us back the rain held off till later that night so we had a great crowd
Sat on the other hand is the reason so late tree fell on my house during the 75 mph winds and the family had to evacuate with nothing but the clothes on our backs not even money nothing Red Cross put us up. thank God no one was hurt and the insurance will cover the damage. 3 days homeless bites! back and the rain that went through the hole in the roof damaged my laptop, and bass amp! bass's were away in a different room thankfully

New drummer did pretty well, aside from a slight rushing problem. We'll get that worked out. And at this particular Moose lodge, they serve Smithwick's on draft! :cool:

Next gig: Saturday the 27th, with my brother at Dad's Pub, Rockville MD. If the place is still open by then... :eyebrow: Yeah, it's one of those places...

We got there and the place was indeed open, but we immediately had two problems:

1. The money agreement was no longer agreed to by the club, but was in fact 25% less. We did get half price on hamburgers, though. And we wound up getting cash up front, instead of having to return 3 times to the club to get the money like last time. But it's funny how the guy who sets up the deal via email is not there when it's time to actually pay the band!

2. Last time we crammed all 6 of us onto their small stage, and then were told that most of the bigger bands set up "over there" in the corner, where there's plenty of room, and where the stage should be located. But this time we weren't allowed to be over in the corner, and had to cram ourselves onto the stage again. :mad:

In spite of these issues, we played fairly well. We had a medium turnout, not quite as big as last time but not bad, and I got a nice compliment from a bassist friend who dropped in to see us.

At the end of the night, my brother was told by the head waitress that they'd "only made half the tips" they would normally have made. I know I tend to tip less when the waitress keeps asking "do you need any change?" I really hate that. Let's see, I gave you a $20 for a $7 tab, and you're wondering if I need the change? No, honey, I'm incredibly wealthy, I always tip 100% or more, and I'm playing in this dump for art's sake! :rollno:

Next gig: with my Grateful Dead band On The Bus at the Potomac Grill in Rockville MD, Saturday 4/10.

Just come from an Outside Ski resort gig.
At the start of the 1st set, it was -2°C :hmm:

Can't warm up the fingers , the strings were so damn cold !

Tough gig , went well but tough..........

Next gig ; 3 days at the Casino. IEM and comfy !

The cover band had it's first gig saturday night. Lots of positive comments during the breaks but I think most of the patrons were friends, family, and coworkers of the band members. It must of sounded ok because the bar manager booked us for another date. I used my T-45 through the Little Mark II and Avatar 212 neo. :bassist:

Well It's not really a bass gig, but It is my first gig exclusively singing. I'm singing for Easter at my church, friday, saturday, and sunday. I am actually leading worship, and I'm only 17!!! 2 services a day and around 500 people are expected to come to each service! Wish me luck!

After 9 months of songwriting and rehearsing, my band is playing its first gig. The gig is a birthday party for the singer of a previous band. She wants all of her former bandmates to play her party with their current projects. It should be a lot of fun.

Three of us in my current band are experienced. It will be our singer’s first gig. (None of us are kids, either; I don’t know how a guy who can sing as well as he can has not done this before.) And for that reason I think this is a big deal for us. Some bands spend a lot of time practicing and never gig. I have hopes that we can get some momentum going tonight.

Plus, I get to break out my new gig rig for its first full-on field test. I think we will be playing outside, so, we’ll have to see how that goes. (700 watts out of four 10s.)

I think we did great. People said they liked us a lot. Maybe 2 of our 6 songs were what I considered flawlessly performed. The usual bumps and near-collisions. We weren’t loud but sounded good I think, and my rig was fine.

My gig went pretty good. Not a great turnout, mostly because of the long weekend, but probably 2 to 3 dozen people there, and that was good enough for our first show. Some technical hiccups, our set was cut short (we only played 40 minutes instead of an hour, not a big deal), part flubs, and guitar issues, but otherwise, can't complain too much! My 6 string Stambaugh is a good conversation piece, apparently: my girlfriend overheard a number of people discussing it.

Well we made it! I guess the bandleader knows what he's doing. We still had time for our breaks. I forgot that four of the songs we cut into medleys. We need to work on song placement. Two of the songs seemed a little out of place. They will be moved around. Tom Sawyer went really well though. I am happy we got a big cheer when we finished our first set with it. Our crowd was smaller than normal but they got into it and we gave them a good show. The dance floor filled up on all our dance numbers.
