Thanks! I'll certainly be driving more! Current plan is six gigs with the new band before my next one with the old band, 5 weeks from now. A lot can happen in that time...
My main band "Red House" is playing at the Pioneer Saloon in Woodside, CA. Funky little bar south of San Francisco. We played there in August, and had a great time. The crowd was lively, and we got them dancing and having a good time.

ok... super big gig weekend.... today is the santa clause parade in toronto and tomorrow is monday night football... both we wind up being televised, todays is in front of a total of 6 million or so people, not counting the televised audience, and tomorrows is a hometown crowd of almost 80,000 plus the clips that wind up on espn... so wish me luck
Wow, sounds like quite the gig.
But one thing is confusing. You say you're playing in front of 6 million people Not Counting The Televised Audience??. That must be some parade

Gigged at Santa Ysabel Resort and Casino this weekend.
Good show, not perfect, but a real good show.
We were locked in together quite well, so our groove was "on". I'm getting rather proud of my dynamics--playing louder and softer in certain parts of tunes for effect.
All three of us lead vocalists honked on a note or two....I'll weasel out and blame it on the 4% humidity and the harsh Santa Ana winds drying out our throats.
Watched a guy standing alone for 2 sets....obviously a musician....could tell by the way he paid attention to our hands and our gear. I get a kick out of observing male musicians as they watch me play.
Almost hit a deer on the drive home afterward....the stupid animal just stood in the road--didn't even try to get out of my way....was driving 50 mph when I saw her and she would have died (and wrecked my truck) if it weren't for anti-lock brakes.

there has the stats... and in another 24 hours from now we will have completed the monday night football game... if anyone watches espn, apparently we're gonna be the background to one of their reports around 2-2:30... so yeah... im beat from today... we left at 6 this morning and i just walked in my house... it went pretty good.
Yes Thinking For Tuesday are making another foray into the big city, playing at the now famous Purple Turtle in Camden Town with Magna Saga and Bleach this Thursday (which I am reliably told, in London at least, is the new Friday).

ok... so i was off on the amount of people... and we didnt get behind espn in broadcast before the game because the bills suck.
we played really well yesterday... but in one word: COLD!!!!!! we weren't allowed to wear gloves and it was like 25 degrees
I saw that the parade crowd is estimated at 500,000, but who am I to quibble? Hell, the largest crowd I've played to has probably been 75 people. Sounds like a great experience, though 25 degrees is brutal. My fingers start slowing down when my house gets to 65. I can't imagine playing in 25 deg.
its not bad if you have gloves and hand warmers... i use a golf glove for my right and i have vinyl inserts for a one-size-fits-all stretchy glove for my left (fretting) hand... takes some getting used to but its definitely nice if you're in it for a long time.

The local Christmas parade here is tonight, and I'm happy to say that we're NOT doing that gig...........we did it last year, temps in the low 30's and I didn't enjoy it much.........but right now, the temp here is 19, and it's just now starting to get dark, so it will be falling fast. Give me a gig where I sweat like an animal........sure it will be messy, but I'll happily deal with it..........give me a gig where my fingers (and the rest of me, for that matter) are paralyzed with cold.......NO THANKS!
Very first paying gig on the 29th for a girl at school's birthday! Haven't practiced for it yet but we have the passion and that's what counts, right?!?!?
Just played a gig last Friday night at a small venue here in Tucson called The Rock...it was a so-so gig, the promoter booked 8 local bands on the bill. Turned out none of the bands solds their tickets...so aside from the other bands and groupies there was a very small turn out of people.
Secondly...in all the hurried comotion getting on stage and setting-up, I completely spaced plugging my head into the cab...UGH...so I ran through the house PA and wedge in front of me. If Geddy can play without a cabinet so can I.
Oh and BTW...my band Angelic To Ashes is opening for MUSHROOMHEAD tomorrow night. I'll keep you guys/gals posted on how that gig goes.

So our Motown review was for the Womens Club of a very ritzy Temple in Mid Manhattan. And we're all over the music and we're playing pretty much nonstop. As we're playing, one of the guests comes up to the leader as he's singing and playing keyboards and asks "can you play a Hora?"
This weekend, its 2 clubdates for me and the big band on Sunday night.
