Thanks, I was having a bit of a fey and nostalgic moment. i don't usually post anything like that. Also, that sound link i posted was the only one i have posted i think ever on Tb. Strange huh?

Anyway, just wanted a few people i like to hear me, not the whole world.

I am on the edge, like all of us. i can deal with it just fine, couple of tears, some more blues and then get loud and proud and i can deal.

Like I told TH, I know it all too well. I just have to fight harder tomorrow. I am ready. I will ___ ...

I Will

Yes, you will! I made it back from the edge once again, and you will too.

Now, I hear Joe Cocker singing "with a little help from my friends" in my head...it's true.

Okay, *Group Hug*

I guess in one sense the post was fey, but to me it was a reminder of what's important. And what we all struggle with (even those who are better at hiding it).

Your kids might not get that story now, but they will one day.

Yup - and his junk. You got lucky, girl. I never get men begging me to let them show me that stuff. But you should probably hold back on the green comments - if you offend him, he won't send you more pictures of either. Guys can be sensitive like that, yanno? And, so can their snakes.

Ahh...I have to give him a little hell. :D

My first thought was, 'that snake would look really cool with my Spector' and then something along the lines of, 'hey baby, why don't you put your snake on my instrument and snap a few pics.'
And then, for some reason it reminded me of my oldest son, back when he was about 4. My sister taught him this joke that he used to tell anyone that would listen, because most people would just about die laughing. It was something like, 'What's green and yellow and eats nuts?' And coming from a four year old, you're expecting something along the lines of maybe, 'a punk rock squirrel' or something like that, but the punchline was, 'Gonorrhea!' which he, of course, announced as loud as he could.

With bass...

Thor. I lost my mom in 1976 when I was 16, my father passed three and a half years later just after I turned 20. I think of them every day... still. I'm 52 now, it never faded for me. My mother made an enbroidered picture when I was 10 or 11 that I really liked. She stitched ML down in the corner which was both of our initials. I still have it. The only thing that belonged to my father is a 1940's Bostich desk stapler.

My father loved technology and read Popular Science magazine every month. (I learned to read thanks to Popular Science. lol) He would have went crazy over home computers, the internet, smart phones, GPS units, ipods and many other things that we have around us. Every time I get or learn to use a new gadget I think of him.

In the early seventies all of us kids chipped in and bought him a handheld digital calculator. It was his favorite gift.

In my life I often wish I could talk to them and get their advice. I miss them terribly.

Thanks for sharing Thor.

1.5 hrs to meet a Tb'er for a sale is about the median drive. guess he didn't really want to sell. meh.

ok, got over the sneeze attack, am responding to a pm from a local tb'er now booking gigs at a local place, I told him to hook me up and i would go for it in Jan. i have more than enough guys to make it work. hope it comes through. I have 2 x as many acts as he needs for one night, we could make it a locals FD/EMT benny and get all 5 acts for 45 mins each with multiple crossovers.

While i was gone, i hung an antique clock I own on the wall. clock has an interesting place in my life.

when I was about 10, i spotted this clock on my parents wall. i said to my mom, that when she died, i wanted it. She was 38 at the time, she said "ok, I will put your name on the back of it."
Some years later, things changed and it was given to me. It's about 3 feet high and a foot wide, maybe 12" deep. I have dragged it around for years, and it's in my home now. last year, floods were here and i had it on the floor waiting to get hung, "that project you mean to do", but don't - as everyone else somehow has some frikken priority they need that they cant do.

So a few mins ago, I cleaned it, mold and dust gone. I found the right wall hanger and Thor Wallbanger got a 'w t f you banging down there.."

It's up on the wall and ticking.

Inside the clock is a small statue, a little boy in his clogs and tiny hat, blowing on his little soprano horn. I remember when I was 10 I scarfed it from mom and put in the clock. She left it there and it's still there.

It is only about three inches high, but i have a lot of ideas about it, it says so much. it is the young musician, learning. it is the older musician, playing despite not being listened to. it is the old musician, who plays because he has the love. it is a good little statue.

Mom died 7 years ago, but i got the clock in 77. I have cherished it since. Anyway, just an interlude, got something done. Hit me in the head, in a nice way.

I said in another thread, i think to general electric, but i will say it here once more.

My mom used to call every Sunday around 10. when I was young, i was sleeping and tired, but i took the call as she needed it. When I got older, the phone would ring but i was happy not because she needed it but i needed it. One day about 2004, the phone stopped ringing. Mom passed that year.

I told my daughter and son this story and how i felt about it. I am not sure they get it yet.

I still wish the phone would ring every Sunday at 10.

Thor's heartfelt story of his Mom touched me because of losing my Dad in 2003, and leads in to the "Poseidon" means so much to me that I want it on my bass.

I lost my dad suddenly in 2003. He was gone within 12 hours after his liver gave out due to damage from a diabetes medicine he took in the late 70's. My last moment with my Dad was when he was wheeled to the helicopter to be transferred to a bigger medical center. I told him that I loved him and to keep fighting.

After he passed my step mom gave me a box of my Dad's things. Pictures, tapes he made when he was in the Air Force stationed in Turkey in the late 60's, pictures, etc. the letters said that Dad went to Greece in leave a few times. I also got Dad's jewelery box with his watch (Which the alarmed beeped for 5 years at 6:00 am every morning with a battery that didn't have enough power to lite the display) his rings and this funny looking coin with a loop on the top of it.

I did some research and discovered that it was a Greek coin with Poseidon's head on one side and the trident on the other. I have had this coin around my neck ever since. I want to brand my refin bass Poseidon to honor my Dad, and let the music played through it honor him too.

Thanks for letting me share.

That baby is adorable! I think he's got your eyes. And even if he doesn't, he's got your charm. That's quite the little chick-magnet you've got there.

We luvs ya here, Thor and you are perfect just the way you are! I appreciate the shares - they make me feel like I'm not alone out here in the big cruel world.

2 things in order of importance: Thor you kick ***, so yeah deal with it. And definitely hit me up if you're down here.

Secnsly, THE DAY OF BACONING IS AT HAND! Bacon Bourbon is on the production process as I type this.

what don't ya like? the body? ok. the neck...that can be changed. the sound? mod it into a Hoppus with some p quarter pounders. BTW, I've always loved P's, but my jazz is really growing on me.

Body feels awkward its just too tall, not a fan of the sound i. The mix it just doesn't compare with my Ps, love the neck but my P Special has a jazz neck and my Jag shorty basically has a guitar neck. Plus the SR500 has that active jazz sound anyway which is why I never use it. Plus I'm already about to drop some money into the Jag so I don't feel like spending more modding a bass I don't even want. SO HOW ABOUT THEM APPLES?!?! ;)
