Only two strings away from an attitude problem.
Hey, you're free to enjoy what you like. Glad you had a great time. Same for Thand. If this floats your boat. Great! Lots of GnR fans out there. Just not my thing.
Are any of you guys Tragically Hip fans? Pretty big Canadian band. Seems like everyone here is in love with them. But for me with the exception of a couple of songs I go "huh?" They just don't do it for me.
Likewise I was not very keen on AC/DC until they came to Toronto and played the huge benefit concert summer after we had a SARS outbreak. They played after Rush and before the Rolling Stones (No pressure!). Got to know a bit more about the band during that time and saw what a great bunch of guys they seemed to be. Respect level went way up and then when they played I thought they blew the Stones away (then again I'm not much of a Stones fan either) and the respect level went way up. They were definitely the best act on stage that night.
For me I guess it's a mix of a bunch of things but it helps if I really like the music for a starting point.
No worries, BG, I didn't take your comments to mean that you were suggesting that I shouldn't like them. You're cool - expressing your own opinion and being accepted for here is the glory of CWB.
I think that's my thing. I really enjoy all kinds of music for the experimental vibe. Except rap - It just doesn't do it for me. And if I get to hear music live - well, it's just that much better.
Tragically Hip is pretty good. Like you, some songs do it and some just don't. But, I haven't figured out the whole bucket of fried chicken reference in The Darkest One video. What's the story behind that anyway? LOL. I do kinda like stealing the engine in a shopping cart, but I wanna know where they found one that will roll off its parking lot.
