Yeah, but that harvest gold is a pretty elegant and mild color. I'd think it wouldn't be as polarizing as something much brighter like the orange and red and such. I'm surprised to hear that. Interesting. All I got to say is it is by far my favorite of those duco style colors. I really like the CAR/LPB a lot but that gold with its earth tones just works so well with the woods.

Lack of contrast, eh? What about gold with maple and a white guard? HUH MR SMARTY PANTS?!?! ;) :D :D :D :D

Totally just blowin' you crap dude. I love yer bass. I still have dibs on it even tho I do hope (and expect) to never exercise them. :)

:D +1 It is the lack of contrast that quite a few people don't like about my Harvest Gold. I obviously dig the heck out of it though, and when I saw the picture in Jimmy's shop a few years ago... I HAD to have it!

Speaking of the Harvest Gold LM, what the heck, another clip.

I did a quick and dirty of a particular EQ setting on the RH450/RS210 for a fellow TBer a few minutes ago.... playing over the bridge pickup with the bridge pickup favored a bit... preamp engaged, EQ flat/off.

Well, all I have to say is, I felt the same way, and I agree with Jason. If I was in a position to order an LM, the only thing keeping me from very seriously considering this combo is the "copycat" factor. :D

Copycat factor does get in the way. I remember looking at that walnut/ash MTD of yours about 500 times, with my finger on the trigger to order one:D:bassist:

Dude, that sounds great! So what were the EQ settings on the amp?

WOW! Despite how much I totally love that one, this does surprise me (and flatter me of course). :) I don't wanna' get OT, but you'd appreciate that it's also a very rare one at only 8.5 pounds or so (noting it's an ash body), but it sounds "heavier". :)

Anyway, 'nuff of that hippie sammich crap. Back to J basses! :)

I love this rig! Actually, a little embarrassing. It was a setting shown on a NAMM BassIda clip... all four bands boosted (we assumed the factory defaults) and the tubetone at around 9 o'clock for just a little grit. She of course is groovin' her a** off, but we were just wondering if just cranking the knobs at the default center/shelving points would get close to her J tone, and it kind of did (she was playing a DJ passive). Just a bit of fun for me... wife still on the road... rig still in the family room:D

The primary difference between the clips is I bring that 52 year old midwest white guy thing to the lick.

I still haven't heard a word on the two basses in Jimmy's booth with white pickups, anyone know the deal with those?

Those are both LG's, just a different vibe with white pickup covers... The Plum colored one is active and available (unless my friend Miko has pulled the trigger) and the Green one (same 69 Dodge Dart color as the famous RA5) is going to be a shop bass - that one is passive only. Both have nitro finish I believe. The necks just feel incredible.

Do you know if there are more white pickup covers laying around the AC shop that Jimmy would make available? I have always loved that look and would love to put them on my green AC......

Speaking of wieght..... Anybody ever play Marcus's famous Jazz? I did and while it was not on my mind to think about it,later I thought,,,not heavy. Any body else play that bass?

I've never gotten the chance to play that bass, but I did get to see it pretty up close when I was on stage after a show years ago. But man I would love to play it for a couple minutes!
