it didnt come out as planned.. I asked jimmy to do a Metallic Black metal-flake P for me.. the metallic did not work just right on that one...
So jimmy had the painter to put a cherry edge around the body... In person it would change colors and to me was spectacular. almost like a blackberry fade burst with silver under coat... and as you move from side to side it changes color... up close it is sort of 3D..
I like those one of a kind mistakes that turn out real nice.

Assuming the color balance is correct in both the photo and my monitor, what is the body color of the P in the foreground?

It looks like maybe a darker version of CAR. Am I correct? (cuz I want one)

I wanted to share a quick video of me playing my Willie Weeks Alleva Coppolo. This is from a live in studio set we did for Lifechurch.tv. There are 3 total sets and this is the first of the 3.
Set List.

You Have Stirred My Soul

Turned out good I think. We recorded it at our studio outside of Houston and had a blast.

I am loving the bass and I actually think I struck a deal with Leona1 for the Burgundy Mist Alleva Coppolo P Bass!

Let me know what you think of the video :)

Man that sounds REALLY good! Very impressive!

If the question is
"are there marks around the hipshot bass that look like they came from another bridge"
the answer is "no"

Vic.. you could be right... I only matched up the screw holes...

I was just looking at my bass "kbp5 Vintage style"and i didnt make a dent in the body when i swapped out the two.. Maybe Chef can chime in.. he has my old bass that i did the swap on..I went back to the original way i got the basses.. LG with Hipshot and P5 with the vintage.. Im keeping the vintage style on the P5.. it works great.

I did tighten the bridge down hard IIRC..so im thinking it would have left a mark for sure..

I just dont remember if it left a dent on his bass.. geesss there were a few..:)

Hi guys,

I currently have an LG5 in 3TS. I am seriously thinking about putting in an order for an LM5. I played one in New York 2 years ago and it really spoke to me.

I can't decide on a colour, though and was hoping for some suggestions of what would look good, and maybe some photos.

Okay, I'm not a blocks and bindings sort of guy, so it will just have dots on the fretboard. I want something with a matching headstock. I already have a burst, so don't want any burst colours. I'm not interested in trans colours, white, black, red(I have a Dakota Red LEJ5 on order) or burgundy mist.

Suggestions?

I'm really a fan of the Candy Apple Orange Juice. That's a really cool color and would really *pop* with a maple fretboard. Add a tort guard and you can't go wrong, IMO.

Of course, natural gloss is always a safe bet. Not necessarily unique but there's a reason it's such a popular choice. It just works.

I did think of CAOJ but was unsure of how it would go with a maple board.

Color is very personal, but the Candy Apple Red RA with the simple black dot but gloss finished maple board and perloid guard was probably the most beautiful maple board bass I've ever seen.

+1 to the comment above... I don't like non matching headstocks with rosewood or ebony boards, and I REALLY don't like matching heastocks with maple boards.

I posted a pic of the Candy Apple Red RA (which really looks like an LM since it doesn't have blocks and binding) earlier in the thread. That bass always produced 'ooohs and aaah's when it came out of the case.

Just another idea. CAR and gloss maple looks amazing to me.

That really is beautiful, but I'm not in the market for another red bass.

Dang you guys, you got me doubting myself about maple/MHS :bawl:

Looking at your gold LM5, though, it looks beautiful without the MHS.

I really like my Harvest Gold, but quite frankly, that bass gets about a 50/50 approval rating on its look. While everyone oooh's and aaaah's over the Surf Green, and also the CAR when owned it (literally everyone), comments on the look of the Harvest Gold range from 'nice' to 'washed out and not enough contrast with the maple board, etc.'. It is the most amazing sounding and playing bass I've ever owned, and my favorite of all the A-C's I've played, but it isn't a 'wow' look like some others.

It does look nice under the lights though, and I like it a lot.

What about surf green/maple?

Also been considering natural but worried it may look a bit boring after the initial honeymoon.
