That's a great looking (and I'm sure sounding) bass Ken. I just love that color.

I remember when I was a kid watching a military movie (I don't remember the name) where a woman was singing at their base and you see a soldier in the background holding a Fender Strat that color... I've loved it from that day on and I didn't even play an instrument then.

Yeah . the one furniture style bass that really stood out to me at the show was a Schold basses... Very nice and a cool guy too...


But jimmy would know more about the bridge difference....
My new LG5 is going to have the Hipshot... and im keeping the vintage one on my P5.
We cut the body the other night for my LG, i have to put the video up soon.. the neck pocket is tight as can be

I wanted to share a quick video of me playing my Willie Weeks Alleva Coppolo. This is from a live in studio set we did for Lifechurch.tv. There are 3 total sets and this is the first of the 3.

I am loving the bass and I actually think I struck a deal with Leona1 for the Burgundy Mist Alleva Coppolo P Bass!

I dont remember any dents on my bass when i did a bridge swap between the two...but then again, i never worry too much about how perfect a bass has too look..

Im looking at my P5 right now and dont see any dents from my swap out... maybe Chef can look at his bridge area to see if there are any from when i did the swap out between the two..

Well, maybe I'm wrong about the size diff issue? I thought for sure there was a footprint diff. If not, "never mind!".

I bet it would just visually be perfect with the old school bridge option, but it sounds and plays so good I don't want to mess with it.

Meant to comment on this too... I'm not sure I'd worry about tonal issues. His bent plate bridge is a lot beefier than the truly traditional ones, so I think it generally functions as well as the Hipshot tonally. In my case, the only reason I went Hipshot was for cost (at that point the BP was a $200 or more upgrade) and stringing convenience. Also, the fact that I'm not that worried about the perfect traditional aesthetic, made the different look perfectly fine with me.

I was just looking at my bass "kbp5 Vintage style"and i didnt make a dent in the body when i swapped out the two.. Maybe Chef can chime in.. he has my old bass that i did the swap on..I went back to the original way i got the basses.. LG with Hipshot and P5 with the vintage.. Im keeping the vintage style on the P5.. it works great.

I did tighten the bridge down hard IIRC..so im thinking it would have left a mark for sure..

I just dont remember if it left a dent on his bass.. geesss there were a few..

You have nitro, right? That'd be the "softest" and the highest risk anyway... again... only if it's something that would bug the owner. It's typical, even in poly, for there to be at least some kinda' mark, because the builder wants to make sure there's good contact to the bridge ground wire, but rarely is the paint "broken" so it could be real minor.

Ryan,, the material and bass sounds great! And nice playing too. Robbie has a cool trippy vibe that i like and at times has a Peter Gabriel raspiness that i like.

I dig the color of the bass too. looks great on video.. I may go that way with my custom LG5 that will be coming

The clip posted by ryanowens above is one of the Willie Weeks models. From the interview, Jimmy said that Willie was still not quite happy with the nut width, so the one in the NAMM booth is Jimmy's latest 'prototype' iwht a wider nut width (I assume 1 7/8's, since Jimmy said he used a 5 string width for the Weeks 4 string). I assume as Willie tries them and sends them back, Jimmy puts the earlier prototypes up for sale. Ryans sounds and looks killer to me.

I think you meant Ken, right, since that's who we're talking about? Yeah, I know he has Nitro, I was asking about you because you said you didn't have a marking problem when swapping.

Otherwise, Poly is harder, tho he does use a thinner coating of it. Hard to say. Maybe I'll pull off my bridge (HS B) tonight just to see, but that still doesn't really answer it for Ken. He'd probably just have to look on his and/or have someone here measure the baseplate dimensions on the BP bridge and compare that to the HS B.

Thanks for the kind words guys.

The recording was the Alleva Coppolo through my pedalboard, into an Aguilar DB900 DI and into the DB750. We also had a mic on the DB810 so the final tone is a mix of the two.

I can tell you that the AC through the Aguilar DB900 Tube DI sounds great! That is what I get in my in ear mix and I really love it.

I just confirmed the shipment of the Burgundy Mist AC P bass! Should be here next week.

It's a really nice looking metallic purple-ish color. A very nice finish, IMO.
