What about surf green/maple?

Also been considering natural but worried it may look a bit boring after the initial honeymoon.

That would look killer. There is a guy who posts over on the Nordstrand thread who has that color combination for his Nordy, and it is just beautiful. I would thing a poly Surf Green (if there is that option) with a gloss maple neck and no matching headstock would look great, and also be quite affordable.

I wanted to share a quick video of me playing my Willie Weeks Alleva Coppolo. This is from a live in studio set we did for Lifechurch.tv. There are 3 total sets and this is the first of the 3.
Set List.
Song of Hope
There is a Call
You Have Stirred My Soul

Turned out good I think. We recorded it at our studio outside of Houston and had a blast.

I am loving the bass and I actually think I struck a deal with Leona1 for the Burgundy Mist Alleva Coppolo P Bass!

Let me know what you think of the video :)

Thanks for posting the link. Sounds great man!! Dig the bass tone and the tasteful lines. I've played Song of Hope a couple times at different churches and really dig the line you play. Really adds to the tune.

I really like my Harvest Gold, but quite frankly, that bass gets about a 50/50 approval rating on its look. While everyone oooh's and aaaah's over the Surf Green, and also the CAR when owned it (literally everyone), comments on the look of the Harvest Gold range from 'nice' to 'washed out and not enough contrast with the maple board, etc.'. It is the most amazing sounding and playing bass I've ever owned, and my favorite of all the A-C's I've played, but it isn't a 'wow' look like some others.

It does look nice under the lights though, and I like it a lot.
So you know, I love your Harvest Gold LM5. I think it's a great combination and I could easily pick that color if I were looking for an LM.

Hey LiF, here is my new bass, CAOJ and Tort w/ Maple board... I think it looks hot!

Sorry for the poor quality cell phone pic but you get the point.

Hey Yohann....most people here dont know that your bass looks even better in person :) That bass was one of my favs at the booth.

Also, great meeting and hanging with you and Kirk and Miko and everyone...and I'm going to try for sat or sun afternoon over there, depending on weather.

Cheers
Mitch

Basseroni (Robin)... You know you wanna chime in on these!

Hey Yohann. :)

I surprisingly ended up liking the Pink Shortie. The string spacing is pretty tight but I started getting comfortable with it immediately. And it sounds a LOT like a P-Bass. I didn't try the blue one because I prefer the rounded finish on the Pink one. I would most definitely gig the Pink Shortie for it's looks AND sound.

I must say though that the highlight for me was that Red LM4 with the maple board, black binding, and white pearloid pickguard. That bass KILLED!!!

Mitch.. what a great hang this week with you and George.. he said to call him this week and i will...also its good to see you here...
Was that red LM4 yours... that one and the green one knocked me out...

:) I totally dig it too, but it is a bit like those 'Orange Juice' colored basses.... the color prompts a lot of 'dig it' and 'really don't dig it' comments. Color and aesthetics are such a personal thing that it is hard to even talk about. One of my least favorite color combinations is a classic 59 burst with tort guard and RW board.... dark and dull looking to me.... a combination of 'no contrast but still too much going on' with all those similar colors piled together. Of course, that's probably the most popular color combination of all time:D

I'm surprised to hear that - your harvest gold LM is one of the best looking jazz basses I've seen. If I didn't mind being a copy cat, I would have ordered the exact same combo for my LM on order....

Yeah, but that harvest gold is a pretty elegant and mild color. I'd think it wouldn't be as polarizing as something much brighter like the orange and red and such. I'm surprised to hear that. Interesting. All I got to say is it is by far my favorite of those duco style colors. I really like the CAR/LPB a lot but that gold with its earth tones just works so well with the woods.

Lack of contrast, eh? What about gold with maple and a white guard? HUH MR SMARTY PANTS?!?! ;) :D :D :D :D

Totally just blowin' you crap dude. I love yer bass. I still have dibs on it even tho I do hope (and expect) to never exercise them. :)
