+1...with the natural finish, I like the blocks/binding on it which is the biggest reason why I wasn't completely happy with my order before - the dots looked kinda plain with the natural body. But with the trans blue, the dots work perfectly. The blocks and binding is a little too much going on with the pearloid guard and that bold trans blue color.

I just wonder if black binding might be better on this, just to tie in the details like the pickups and control knobs. Mind you, white pickups and silver knobs might do the trick too.

Hey, if you're going pimp up a bass, you may as well go all out.

+1 all the way. Too many 'design elements' can really take away from the beauty of an instrument, especially one that is based on a somewhat traditional 'J' look.

Good job man, that's gonna be a hot one! And it's great that you found a way to order a bass you're completely happy with while keeping the cost down... This way whenever you look at it you're not going, "I should've gotten blocks/binding."

And for my LM5, I think a pearl pickguard would be a perfect match with the blocks/binding but that goes with your statement above regarding having too much going on which was my thought also... So I think I will get a black and a white pickguard and keep it sorta traditional.

+1...I know that's exactly what I would have been thinking with the natural finish and the dots, and it would have bugged me.

As far as the pearloid guard with pearl blocks/binding, it just depends on the bass. With that bold trans blue I don't need two more "bling" elements (the guard and the blocks). But if the color of the bass is less bold then the pearl guard and blocks would work perfectly.

Just another +1 on the blue with the maple neck. I keep yearning for an LM-5 to complement my LG-5, but so many colors I like don't seem to go with the maple neck (for me). That blue works. Got me thinking (another potential copycat).

Also, Ryan, the color scheme on your KBP4 is for sure bold, but I like it: it's food-colored, as in dessert.
