I talked to Jimmy today about my order, I'm gonna go with all the new features he's doing now, and he gave me the thumbs up on switching from natural to trans blue:

Just the stuff that he talked about in the NAMM interview with Tom - slightly wider and slightly thinner (front to back) body,
one piece neck with the skunk stripe. He mentioned the slight difference in headstock angle, but he said that he may not continue doing that because he didn't really notice a difference.

But the bottom line was I told him I trust him on the changes - after building the prototypes he did for the NAMM show and whatever basses he's working on now, I'm sure he'll have the best idea as to what will work on mine when he starts building it.

He was excited about how the trans blue will look on an LM5 with a pearloid guard.

I think you will either Love or Hate the color combo. I personally love it!
The bass came with a nice white guard that looks good too.

Jason, at the risk of being a copy cat, I just may have to follow your lead on that one. I've been pondering an LM5 since playing that red one at the show, and I do like the look of trans blue with a plain maple board.

3. But, then again, what really is the utility of being able to play like that?

I must be getting old. Really great tone, though!

I do not know who made the bass that guy was playing, but we got the audio feed directly from the back of the TecAmp head (not sure if it was a Puma 1000 or the Black Jag 700).

That dude was seriously big (and a monster player)! Do you see how small that bass looks in his hands!

I think it was the Black Jag 700, and tieftonservices hooked us up on the brand of that (KILLER) bass in post 47, but it's a Tino Tedesco.

It will be fun to do an A-B with my 'old style' smaller body, lighter weight, non-one piece neck LM and your new one when you get it! Looks like it is going to kill!
