Well as far as the Rootbeer, that one has turned out even better (after the year) then when I played it at the booth last year..and it was already killer. I've warmed to the color alot..its classy and understated in a beautiful way ..with the see -through grain making it more interesting than the original Fender color.
I have to say though, the new one- piece necks and slightly heavier ash have a great tonal vibe.... hard hitting fundamental and focus but with still a great deal of bottom end ( the big necks contribute a bit IMO). The new body style is noticable but not drastic at all. The pickguard is slightly altered as well and is a nice touch as well with the new headstock. I may get Jimmy to make me one and then compare it with the Rootbeer and make a decision..in THAT case....if he dosent take it in a trade...
It would have to be one hell of an LM to knock the Rootbeer out!
