Hey guys..i had a blast at NAMM and it was cool hangin with some of you guys! Im lovin my AC's right now..

These are what i got for now..
This one is MY FAV right now..out of all the basses ive EVER owned..
LG5 with Brazilian Rosewood!

Also, per the video of Jimmy describing the stuff in the booth at the start of this thread, it's nice that he is now shipping the basses in the iGig bag. While that isn't may favorite bag, it is very high quality, will protect the basses better than the 'paperweight' bag Jimmy was using, and definitely fits the high quality nature of his instruments better than either the original bags he used (I think they were made by the same company that makes the Lakland Skyline bags), or the much lower end but still nice ProTec Contego bags (or whatever they are) than many other Luthiers (FBass, Skjold, Rob Allen I believe) use as their 'OEM' bags.

Nice! LOT's of room in the pockets of those iGig bags!

Just got off the phone with Jimmy. I wanted to see if he had anything left over from NAMM. Regarding 5er's, he had the Red LM5 and the Walnut passive LG5. Looks like I'll have to place an order.

I described what kind of basses I'd played and liked over last 15 or so years. I was leaning towards an LM5, but it seems like I'll feel more at home on a LG5. My main bass now is a Fender Custom Shop 64 Jazz (go easy on me people, I bought it 6 years ago used for a great deal) that I put Fralin single coils in. I also recently had the frets dressed. This bass feels like home to me, but I need a 5 string. I'm mostly a fingerstyle pocket type player. I'll slap if the tune calls for it, but nothing pyrotechnic by any means. I'm sure the LM's are more suited for the needs of the slap happy, but I'm 99% sure I'm going to go with a LG5 Standard or Classic.

Jimmy was a pleasure to talk to on the phone, and I feel like I'm making the right choice. He said current wait time is around 9 months. I'll have the funds in 2 weeks, in the meantime it's all about deciding on what color to get.

If the LM5 is the Trans Cherry with blocks from NAMM that bass kills! While it's a bit heavy for my taste and I believe it had a couple of small dings, it gave 70's J in spades. It was my favorite bass from the show.

:D I'm currently loaded for bear! I do like that one a lot, and also the 'trans orange' Nordy Classic 70s bass on Carey's site. These two are my 'show favorites' based on the picture. However, since the LM is 'Burke approved', that has jumped into the lead.

Now if someone want to buy it and trade me for an FBass VF5 70's model.... we can talk:p:D

+1 I was being a bit 'tongue in cheek' on that one. It sure looks like a beauty though, and a few guys at the show that have played it said it is totally killin'. Love the 'wine' color or whatever the heck it is.. trans whatever... dig it!

Those original trans basses with the bodies with little grain did very little for me. But man, these higher end deals with all that beautiful grain, and the higher quality finish just look killer to me. My trans orange Sadowsky just totally floats my boat, along with the trans 'reddish orange' Nordy that was at the show. I had a trans cobalt blue Celinder that was really something to look at also.

But +1... like the picture of the 'wine' strat earlier in the thread, if it is 'trans' over a bland piece of wood, it doesn't really make a lot of sense to me visually.

Those were free custom-formed earplugs. I got a set a set made, as well. And what's even funnier? So did the hot chick (and her hot friend - not shown). :D
