Primavera body with a red wine vinegar stain
Olive wood neck is hand rubbed with extra virgin olive oil
Italian rosewood fingerboard is dipped in garlic butter

There is no case included but the bass is wrapped in a paperbag before being shipped

Must I go on?

Is Jimmy a luthier or a line cook these days?

Here is my Alleva Coppolo RA4 (alder and maple w/ blocks). It is the same RA4 on the AC website.

As far as what I know it's got the Primavera body, Maple or Rosewood board, 60's or 70's spacing and A-C electronics... And I do not believe this is a budget A-C... This is handmade at the shop like the rest of them.

The only budget A-C I know of is the NF5, which the no body wood choice, no options and import hardware are the differences, but it's still handmade at the shop.

Hmmm... so it is basically an LG or an LM with a primavera body. Doesn't seem to warrant a separate product name

Using the term "privavera" in any context OBVIOUSLY can only bring up the inevitable among us of this wondeful heritage FOOD..And the retorical question "Are you hungry?"

If Jimmy chooses to build EUTs on a regular basis don't be suprised if he packs on a few pounds!

On second thought I just realized the EUT is going to be a massive failure, I will explain..

Imagine the typical sales call:

Potential buyer Vito: Hey Jimmy I'm looking for a new bass.

Jimmy: I'm working on this new model all the cats are diggin', the body is made of Primavera wood.

Vito: Oh wow, wait did you say primavera hey Jiimy my great Aunt Milly made a great pasta primavera, you ever have it with roast prosutto?

Jimmy: No that sounds great. Let me get my wife to turn off the pickup winder and get some garlic and oil going.

Vito: Great to talk to you don't forget a little red pepper and grated cheese.

The separate name was to distinguish that it was the export only bass ... now that it's available domestically, maybe that will change.

Not really trying to get back into the "how it is made" discussion. My use of "budget" was thinking this might be a lower price point for those of us looking for that.

IMO the NF5 is a bit fug; meaning a little too far away from the A-C aesthetic. Nothing wrong with it, just not for me with the current setup.

I guess I'm with Ken. Seems to add another body wood option, which is cool.

Yeah I guess I don't understand the point of the EUT - if it sounds alot like alder then why wouldn't you just order the bass with alder?

Don't even really get this... so nothing is different except the body wood, but for some reason that makes it appropriate to export versus alder or ash?

I guess it doesn't really matter, but kind of strange.

Assuming the price point is there it seems to be a servicable instrument, although I think most people would want Jimmy's pre if they were ordering an AC.

NF = No Frills

Not too crazy about the tuners, bridge, lack of pickguard and control layout.

I don't understand why he seems to feel the need to start creating unique product names for more and more permutations of configs. I'd personally just keep the "menu" simple, noting the size of his shop.

+1 all the way. I get so many PM's by guys asking'should I get the Custom Deluxe or the Super Custom Special or the Deluxe or the Standard Plus?!?!?'..... I just bounce back that I have no idea... and recommend getting the simplest one you can get... they all sound the same (which is to say, they all sound great)

I haven't gotten a new price list from Jimmy since last year, but according to the 2009 price list the NF5 was $2400.

+1...that would definitely make alot of sense! (Plus the KBP for the P Bass guys.)
