As long as the cork is left in place rotate away...Does someone come by and rotate you 45 degrees every month or so?
I have a whole group of hotties that follow our gigs and do a lot more than that, a lot more often... chicks dig the low frequencies, my friends, and when you play in a dance band, you gotta' have big bins, too...Does someone come by and rotate you 45 degrees every month or so?

I'm finally in! I should have this baby in a week or so. I've been wanting both an AC and an Orange bass for a while -- and as luck would have it, this is both of those things.
You lucky dog you, i was eyeing that one, although i was not crazy about the color or the ALDER wood, but everything else i would have bit and bought it if it were there for a few more days, so now i wait for the 2011 NAMM show to be over and hope that something grabs my attention and i will bite....Congrats on a superb instrument at a good price, let us know how she plays.

Nice. I assume that is an RA. That looks like one of the very 'era accurate' early builds (if I remember right) with a gloss poly neck finish but a nitro headstock finish (something about Fender not being able to get the decal to stick on the poly early on in the last 60's, early 70's... again, if I remember what the 'Fender experts' posted about this a while back).
Not sure if that is the spec or not, but looks like it with the different headstock 'tint' look. I dig it!

I played that bass at NAMM, and it's both very unique as well as (IMHO) cool! It's got that early 70's vibe BIG time... lots of "Marcus'y sizzle" in it's sound despite the lack of an ash body, and it was pretty light, too. The D neck profile is really different from any other AC I've ever played, but man, I dug it a LOT. I think the extra meat in that profile also contributes favorably to its tone. I looked HARD at that bass when he put it up. It was my favorite bass of all he had at NAMM, but lemme know what YOU think.
Forgot to mention i believe the kid Brandon Rose was playing this beauty at the NAMM show in 2010, if you go on youtube you see him with this same color and model, i could be wrong maybe some one else can confirm it, young fella is gonna be great when he gets older on BASS.
I wonder if you'd still feel the same after seeing and hearing it in person. That pic does not do it justice at all, and it's tone and playability were stellar. Seriously.
You are right Vic, i would probably drool all over it, to be honest i like the color a little but think it will look better with a black PG, trust me i would have bought it if it were there in 4 more days, you know the Christmas Bonus money, lololol and had the thought f just changing the PG by calling Jimmy and ordering another, heck the price was pretty good and no wait, everything else can be looked past ya know...hahhaha, anyhow VIC when you get a chance see if you can go on youtube and look at Brandon and see if he is jammin on this beauty, i believe he is but i could be wrong.
Hey guys. For you 'Fender history' fans, I was reading through the Time's 'Best Books of 2010' and came across:
Fender: The Golden Age: 1946-1970 by Kelly, Foster, & Kelly.
Just arrrived, and it is a fantastic history of the company and also the various instruments made during that period. Beautiful pictures of dozens and dozens of classic instruments, amps, marketing materials and early shop activity. Well worth it!

That spec really does the upper treble sizzle quite well, versus IMO and IME the more Marcus upper mid grind. Nice tone profile... wide, smooth, lots of upper treble extension if it is similar to the other RA's I've owned and played. As you say, more of an early 70's thing versus the more familiar tone of the later 70's influenced LM's. Not really the spec I would have thought Joel would go for, but a nice one nonetheless.
