Mid/Upper 3K to low 6K, depending on how crazy you want to get. Call Jimmy for exact quotes. These basses are bit like the FBass pricing model... actually quite reasonable for the base models (in the 'high end boutique' normal pricing range), but then getting stupid expensive for upgraded (fancy tops, block and binding, rare fretboards, nitro finish, matching headstock, etc., etc.). The base models sound fantastic.

Oh wow.

But in the despcription for each model stands : Maple or Rosewood and with/or without matching Headstock....

they should list a price list on their webpage....

I would love to buy a Standart 70ies 5 String with matching headstock this year... nothing more ;)

How are the B Strings ?

Jimmy had this hippy model, just like an LG but with a water based rub on finish which was under $3k IIRC. He had it still available when I was at the booth yesterday.

I tried emailing Jimmy a couple of months back about some pricing info and never got a response. I'm sure he's been slammed trying to get ready for NAMM. I just wanna know what the prices for the bottom line basic models start at for an LG5 & KBP5. Is there a reason he doesn't list the starting prices on his site?

As long as you don't want blocks and binding, then it would be in the lower end of the price ranges that Ken posted. I asked Jimmy yesterday, and the price for a basic LM5 was very reasonable on price.

The ones in the photos and videos with the blocks, binding, and badass V bridge are a limited edition. They sold for $5k.

and I'm a lefty - let's hope they don't charge too much for this (sth. what no Bassbuilder should but 95% do) :eyebrow: ?!

all the german luthiers take 0% upcharge for a lefty Bass

My guess is because he is pretty much a 'custom' builder. Each piece is different. However, just like Sadowsky, he will send you a price list.

I don't think Jimmy is particularly an email guy. Call if you are interested. While I haven't spoken with him in a couple of years, he was always very prompt returning calls when I had a question about the spec of a used instrument.

not for sure in the sonic crush of namm because It's not gonna be a massive diff. But I think the idea is the board affects tone a little less. More maple mass. Maybe a slightly more focused coherent tone.

I believe the reason he doesn't publish the prices is because he has a dealer network for international sales. Sales within the US he handles directly so the pricing is set for those, but there may be differences if you are international depending on the country and the dealer.

+1 The primary difference between Jason's(Vision's) LM5 and mine is that his is the 'one piece neck' and mine has a board. Even with his being just slightly heavier than mine, the tone was about as similar as any two basses I've ever A/B'd. So, IMO, zero issue.

My guess is, making a board with a slab is a bit more straightforward than getting a one piece neck right... just guessing there though.
